Is it not discriminatory towards women to have men-only gyms?I doubt there is one.

I very much doubt you will find one as men generally do not need the same privacy as women e.g. you generally won't have women freaking out guys by admiring their bodies or staring at them whereas you will the other way around. Such is society.

There is a men only version of Curves, but I can't remember it's name. Most powerlifting gyms would be male dominant without being exclusively male.

It's called 'Cuts' I think, there's one in Walkinstown. Wouldn't think it's a great set up though.

I believe the boiler house has a gym which would be men only. Given your username I doubt it's what you're looking for though.

Don't you know that it's only discrimination when it's unfavourable towards females. Just try open a male only gym, or a male-only car insurance company

Does this thread remind anyone else of the episode of Friends when Rachel hired a male nanny??

ROSS: "It's like a woman trying to be a...... King??" :D

Nobody wants a male only insurance company.

As above poster alluded to the only "male only" gyms in dublin are gay places. There are some gyms with very few females, RAW is one place i can think of. Why would working out with women bother ya? Work out at home if you cant exercise in front of 50% of the population.

    I'm guessing it's due to cultural/traditional/religious reasons.

I think he would fully agree with you, the second poster was possibly inferring it might be illegal to have a "single gender" gym, and the OP was pointing out they already exist, he just happened to only list female ones. I imagine some golf clubs might still discriminate against both sexes.

I would have thought most women going to female only gyms was because men would NOT be admiring their bodies, and might be staring for the wrong reasons which would make them uncomfortable. Same reason why some men might not be comfortable working out in front of women.

http://www.corefitness.ie/ - used to be 'Cuts'

They've moved all their curves equipment down to the mens floor though and the men and women workout together  Last I heard anyway.

I think it is YOU who has failed my friend.

Supreme court recently allowed the mens only portarmock golf club. Such a gym should technically be allowed, whether it exists or not is another matter!

Eh.....What point is it that you are making there, that indicates some failure on Hanley's part?
