Joke shop of a fight tbh. I thought Hopkins had one good fight against a top opponent in him. Pity. :(

Its all about the money. Jones jnr lost to Danny Green so the rematch was off. Then Bhop and Green couldn't agree on money so the Jones rematch was back on.

Was listenin to off the ball today and Steve Bunce was on. He was sayin if Haye & either of the Klichko's can't agree on a fight then don't be surprised to see Haye Bhop

I hate the thoughts of this fight, I loved RJJ in his prime and I can't stand Hopkins, Jones has no hope though, he should have retired years ago.
I just find it sad to see a fighter that was once so great getting stopped by clowns like Green and getting beaten by Hopkins (going to happen) and JC, it just makes some forget how good he really was

I'm not interested in this fight at all. RJJ is shot to pieces and is going to get out pointed or more then likely stopped by Hopkins. Even at the ripe old age of 45 Hopkins (I believe) still has a lot to offer the middleweight and LHW division.

I really enjoy his fights, some people call him a spoiler but I believe he is one of the smarter boxers around. He picked apart Pavlik for all 12 rounds. I hope he has a few more fights and gets another shot a belt because he deserves it.

Just checked the odds, Jones is 4/1, a couple of years ago I'd have been tempted at that price but after seeing his last few fights, I just can't bring myself to even put 5 quid on it, lol
He's not as quick as he used to be, his defense is suspect and he doesn't have a good chin. Hopkins on the other hand is still one of the best fighters around, even at 45 he's in great shape and isn't showing any signs of decline. I'd honestly be shocked if he lost this one

I think if anything it will be entertaining for the simple fact that it'll be too lads baiting each other or tring to but fight quality itself will be grade A pants.

will bell be 4am or earlier want to be home for it

I fail to see why people are writing off Jones so much saying his last few fights were terrible etc..

He was OUTSTANDING on the inside against Jeff Lacy in late September and got caught on the side of the head/temple against Green which blow his balance and the fight was over. Bhop fought a mickey mouse opponant in Philly and only won a UD.

I don't think there is much between them at all as suggested and at Jones odds I will be having a small wager on him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,549 ✭✭✭✭cowzerp

RJJ still has skills but has lost foot speed and punch resistance, Bhop is still a top caliber fighter, at peaks this is a great fight, now-RJJ will be dangerous for 1-3 rounds max, after that its a beat down..

in saying that i'd love a 50-50 great fight, dont hold your breath

He was but Lacy made him look good, Jones has been shot to bits for many years and should not be giving Hopkins of all people a chance of revenge

James Toney, Winky Wright, Glen Johnson, Joe Calzaghe and Buddy McGirt are all picking Jones by decision win in this. This I find odd.
Calzaghe is takin' the piss? If Roy still has it? I thought maybe the fact that
Joe dominated the guy is evidence that Jones doesn't have it. Or, is Cal
trying to imply that Jones was still close to peak when they met?

Calzaghe, Toney, McGirt and Johnson give predictions on Jones-Hopkins
The official weights for tomorrow night's stacked Hopkins vs. Jones fight card are in along with a surprising variety of fight predictions from those who know best-other world champions, most of whom have fought one or both Hopkins and/or Jones.

"I think if Roy still has it, he can win on points. Either way it will be close and I would be surprised if there is a stoppage."
-Joe Calzaghe, Unanimous decision over both Hopkins and Jones.

"I like both of them, but if I would have to bet I'd pick Roy because of his slickness and speed. Bernard is crafty but I think Roy is going to be sharper and quicker in this one. Roy in a decision."
    - Winky Wright, Decision loss to Hopkins

"Jones has more speed and more power than Bernard. Jones by decision."
    - Glen Johnson, Jones KO 9th Round

"Roy will outbox Hopkins and win eight rounds to four."
    - James Toney, Decision loss to Jones

"Roy Jones will outbox Bernard. Roy in a decision."
    - Buddy McGirt, Former World Champion

All streams for the boxing tonight, I'm not sure of the time, it could be on at 3am.

    http://www.myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchid=71262&part=sports

Id reccommend getting the veetle software as its the most stable of all the formats above. Go for the veetke 400kbps stream im watching it all night its very very clear and stable [so far].

That stream is perfect and commentary is working, English too, cheers lad. Is this fight going to be worth staying up for?

    Hey boxing fans.

This site has a few solid links for the fight.

    atdhe.net

The stadium is half empty, this is more like a fight at a leisure with journeymen competing rather than a 50 dollar PPV.

was hoping to get a stream with commentary....makes it a lot better
its roy jones junior my friend - one of the greatest of all time in my view at his peak - got him at 4/1 in paddies today ...i know hes shot but i think he has one big fight.

missed haye fight earlier...trying to find a copy online ...seemed like a decent flight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,787 ✭✭✭Jayob10

I have €500 on RJJ to win on points at 15/2

People say Roy is shot but I reckon B-Hop will show his all of his 45 years tonight for the first time.

Jones as bad as people say he is, will be too slick.

Goodbye Bernard Hopkins you were a legend.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,584 ✭✭✭digme

500 quid, you must have great confidence in Jones,Christ. that's a big bet.
He can be slick at distance, but Hopkins won't let him.
Your a brave soul my friend lol
