Just come up with a title and then post your daily workouts.

I have a feeling that the lad is getting a fitness log mixed up with a fitness plan/routine.

Whats your goals OP? Are you just trying to improve your general fitness or something more sport specific?

Just post what exercise you do each day, that's all there is to a fitness log.

I need help in making a fitness log
I dunno what to do for a fitness log.

    Give some more info:
    • What are your goals?
    • Do you play a sport? Which one?
    • What do you want to be? Faster, stronger, fitter, bigger, smaller?
    • What height and weight are you?
    • What do you currently eat? e.g. 7:30am porridge, 9am apple, etc....
    • How much sleep do you get each night?

edit - found your other thread with some of the above info: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055866605

Ok I just read your other thread. You've got a lot of feedback on that on your diet (which is baad!) so why not follow that advice? Eat porridge/eggs for breakfast, eat 2 pieces fruit and 3+ portions of veg. Cut out white bread, chips, takeaways, chipper food, chicken fillet rolls etc. Bring your lunch into school with you and maybe have soup or a pitta bread filled with salad or a brown bread sandwich if you really want bread, maybe you could use ryvita as a replacement for bread?
I assume you get cooked dinner in the evenings? What would that normally be? Try and get as many veggies in as possible. Try and not add too much salt to food either. Eat little and often, maybe every 2-3 hours. Keep your snacks healthy-fruit/nuts (unsalted)/oatcakes etc

As regards your exercise, I don't really know much about fitness etc so won't be too much help on that. What types of exercise do you enjoy? Maybe try swimming, going for walks/jogs, cycling etc. Maybe you should go to the gym and talk to a trainer there, they can sort out a fitness plan for you and give you advice. You definitely should be doing some form of exercise at least 3 times a week.

Nope, dont eat any dinner in the evenings, dont bother with salt, I enjoy gaelic and laps of the pitch:cool:.

Its like banging your head off a brick wall!

Well start eating dinner then!! Follow the advice in the other thread and the stuff that I gave u, go to the gym twice a week/do laps of the pitch, then go for a walk/jog twice a week. Stop asking for advice and just do it!

Okay this is what im gonna do

3 laps of the pitch each day- Using the stopwatch measuring both I will see if there is any improvement

    that sound good then?

If you like running, you could try Couch To 5K.

Try to have three good meals a day, and if you need to snack, keep the snacks healthy. Food-wise, what brainyneuron posted is good.

Try to avoid eating food that comes from a packet. I think the single most helpful thing you could do is learn to cook. Almost any meal you can cook from scratch is likely to be better than frozen or microwave meals.

Even though so many teams do it, endless laps of the pitch won't do much for the fitness needed for GAA.

Sprints is what its all about!!

You say you enjoy gaelic football, but do you play? If you dont you should join your local team or if you do play ask your manager/coach what extra training you can do by yourself.

Also read the stickies about nutrition at the top of the page, theres tons of useful information in there.

At 16 you should be as active as you can be and playing sport(s). Why dont you try as many sports as you can and find one that you enjoy and stick with it and your fitness will improve doing the sport.

you should look up interval training. An example would doing laps, but jog up the long sides of the pitch and run along the short sides. The idea is you run faster on the short parts than you could if you were doing whole laps at that pace, and you recover by going slower on the long sides. As you improve, you can make the work out tougher by adding more circuits and/or going faster

mix in some strength training too if you're going to be playing GAA

Wow, I was thinking the same thing!

I wanted to work hard these 2 weeks too!

I'm in 5th year and I find it difficult to find time for this kinda' stuff!

So currently I'm working.. Mon - Thurs and then Tues - Fri.

Just part time work... I get home around 7 or so?

I plan on gym-in' every second day!

I have a good diet but it's getting more strict for these 2 weeks!

Also, my exercise routine is pretty solid!

Let me know how you get on and I'll do the same! :D

3 laps of the pitch each day

No use unless you're running them flat out even then, probably not enough.

Here's what I'd suggest as being better than what you're currently considering:

    Food:
Cut out white crap from your diet (bread, rice, spuds, whatever...you get the idea)
Eat 5 meals a day (make them smaller than a full sized dinner or whatever).
Eat veg with 3 of your meals a day
Eat fruit with the other 2

    Good exercises to consider:
Sprints (with a sled if you can get your hands on one)
    Squats
    push ups
    dips
    chin ups

Do combinations of those 'til you feel like you're gonna potentially puke.

Do you have access to a gym / weights?

Mostly start doing *something*, especially about your diet.

Yup I have weights no access to the gym though and what I was thinkin of ding like said above is jog up the 2 long sides of the pitch and sprint it on the 2 short sides im goin ahead with this now anyway and i will be taking shots to improve accuracy and range ....

just on the topic of people saying their too busy, i just cant believe it.

i myself am 16, im in school 5 days a week, and work one day. i still manage to get to the gym 4 days a week, and i try very hard to keep my diet up to scratch(ill cycle 20 minutes to the shop to get my lunch at 12 during school.

if you want it , you can make some adjustments.

It's just cos not everyone has the same 24 hours in a day. Some people have 24, some have 23, others 19.........
