Whats wrong with them?

Was on a walk on the nice evening it is and what looked like junk consisting of bed sofas, a dining table and a piano was left outside an apt complex (in a tidy state at a corner not obstructing the path).
Next of all 4 tracksuit laden lads aged about 16 decided to kick hell out of the piano with their feet knocking all the keys off and bits & bobs of wood onto the ground and creating a mess in front of passers by. Piano was probably broke before the vandalism.

Question is why they did it? What do they achieve by doing this?

Are they that dense in that destroying stuff is their form of 'enjoyment' in their lives?

If only they'd had a playstation so they could take out their anger in a game.

    Daily Mail version:

If only they didn't have playstations, so they wouldn't have to take out the anger they get playing games.

    Neanderthal cretins.

I expect they were annoyed because the old lady that they normally administer a good kicking to, wasn't there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,215 ✭✭✭Mrmoe

Because they were dropped on their heads as babies.

It's true. It's called "gettin a chase". Basically they're bored as **** since there's nothing to do so they start doing something that will hopefully get someone / the Gardai to oppose them leading to their "chase".

A good chase really gets the adrenaline flowing.

I know you were probably being sarcastic, but I'd say it has a lot to do with this type of behavior tbh!

No keyboard warriors yet? Alright, I'll give it a go.

Yeh all that rave gone to their heads, no musical instruments allowed :P

Think i'm surprised they didn't set a match to the stuff. It was just the constant kicking of the piano as if they had a competition of who could destroy the piano first.

They'll be on next year's "Ireland's Got Talent" knocking out some more tunes on a piano.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,721 ✭✭✭✭CianRyan

Ah would ya get off that.
I'm 19, from a "rough area" and I get bored.
I don't go out and break shít when I get bored, I don't start scraps for no reason, in fact, I don't start them at all.

The lads described, I see them every day, grew up among them, be it on the streets or in school.
They have the same facilities I do, they were given the same chances I was and they're still idiots.

They're pricks of the highest degree and they have no way of justifying what they do.

    cnuts.

Funny because if the four of them had carted the piano off, they'd have been able to probably sell it on and make about €500 each. Oh well, working class people are dumb.

I remember asking myself a similar question when I moved to the states back in the 90's and discovered public phones werent vandalised even in the worst neighborhoods. Hell newspaper machines werent even vandalised in places where the citizens are shooting at each other in the street.

Well I wouldn't blame them, piano in their area. It was a foreign object, and what do you do with foreign objects? Smash them up... that way you know it won't hurt you. They were probably scared shítless of the piano to be honest.

If they had kicked the strings directly they would have gotten some pretty nasty injuries. Would have served them right for benig such idiots.

**** that, what I did to get a chase as a young fella was play knock a dolly, we were such rebels. We got the buzz from knowing we'd get the **** kicked out of us if our parents found out. The facilities are no better in upper class areas and the crime rate is alot lower.

What's wrong with them? Who knows?
My friends and i engaged in some mindless vandalism in our time.
Any one or a combination of drunkeness, boredom, teenage ennui and plain not giving a **** was behind it, i suppose.
We weren't wearing tracksuits at the time; perhaps one or two of us were if we went drinking straight after training.
If we all wore tracksuits as a rule i suppose we could be categorised as a threat to the fabric of society; as it was, given that we didn't, it would probably be put down to irresponsible, youthful hi-jinks.
