stretching. adequate recovery time, and talk to a physio. and i presume you mean "shins"

    WTF???

There are many causes for this condition, but the treatment's are similar.
Rest up, use icepacks and/or anti inflammatorys.
It really depends on why you are getting these. When you can diagnose the problem you will be able to apply the correct treatment.

This may be caused by weight. A mate of mine was playing a lot of sports, he was a small enough guy but carried a lot of muscle. He had to reduce his size because he was getting terrible shin splints. He's OK now that he's dropped about a stone of muscle.
While you are resting up, try a cross trainer/bike etc for non impact cardio.

There are also footie boots you can buy with trainer soles for added padding.

The OP said his chins are sore, Mellor said wear a bra i.e. the OP is a girl when he runs his tits hit his chin therefore wearing a bra will keep his moobs under control.

It's likely that you have a fallen arch which can lead to bad shin splints.

I got gel insoles which lift your arch in elverys a few years ago and worked a treat.

i had a knee injury and didnt run for 3-4 months. when i started running again i experienced shin splints for the first time ever. i had a foam roller and on top of doing my quads, hammers and ITB i started rolling my calves thoroughly every day and afert about 10 days the discomfort stopped and i could run without any pain again.

i still do this regularly and havent experienced any repeat pains.sure give it a go and see what happens, with the foam roller you have nothing at all to lose and everything to gain!

i think its this, i am a greenkeeper by trade, i remember the last tie this happened it was from cutting greens by hand(not actually by hand) involved walking 3or 4 hours 5 days a week, job i do now is gardening and i m on my feet all day everyday, they flared up when i started tag with new tag runners ,there is no real sole to them like say running runners, i ll get some arch support insoles, plus should be changing jobs in next few weeks, and i ll be on my feet bit less,so hope this helps
and as for loose muscle!!! no way, i do weights 3 days a week and took for ever to put on this weight
