Anyone know when entries open? Seems to have been early March last year...

They have the dates for when the entries close listed, but I cannot see where you can actually enter yet:

I wonder is there a problem getting permission for this year. I think there's alot of work due in the park this year. Also the road surface around the park is in a mess after the cold winter. Odd they hav'nt open the entries yet, although the webpage has been updated in the last week.

OH mailed them a few days ago, they said they hope to have entries open by the end of the week.

Sort of related to the above so will post here.

Has anyone heard about the possibility of entering the 5m/10/half/full together at a discounted rate ?

    From dublinmarathon.ie race series
    "Combined race entries:
Online entry is available to any combination of the events above plus the Dublin Marathon. Multiple entries will receive a discount."

Nothing on activeeurope as of yet though.
I know they grouped the three together for the last couple of years but there was never the option for the three plus the marathon.

€100 would seem like a price that would encourage a lot of people to commit ?

I thought I'd entered the three plus marathon in the one payment a couple of years ago, could be remembering it wrong admittedly. Didn't do any of them last year and not sure if I'll do the full this time, will be doing the other three though as I want some new brightly coloured t-shirts.

I entered all three races of the series last year and I think I the price was discounted down to €70+ for all, (also got an Adidas sports bag when doing the 1/2 Marathon), had to enter the full seperatly as there was no option to register for all 4 at once.

Just checked my account on Activeeurope.com and can see all races registered back to 2008 but the 2009 race series is not listed, not too sure how I paid for them.

I seem to remember it being €45 to enter all 3 last year, hopefully it stays around that level.

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 24,144 Mod ✭✭✭✭robinph

    €70
    €45

Anyone got another number for their entry to the race series last year? :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,545 ✭✭✭tunguska

I was wondering what was going on. I tried to enter last week but I couldnt seem to find the entry portal. Im pretty sure I had entered this time last year though, wonder whats up there?

Oh Christ!! It's getting near that time of year again is it? Will I, won't I?. By when do I have to decide??? :o

    Too fast for me.

So tempted to do DCM now, seeing as you save money on it an' all.

I'm definitely going to (at least try) and do it, just waiting for my student loan to come through so I can pay for it all! :pac:

That being said, I'm pretty sure the race series was 45 last year so you don't really save money at all. 'Cept maybe booking fees are lower this year?

"Number collection: Race numbers to be collected at Lifestyle Sports, Unit 427, Blanchardstown Fashion Retail Park, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15."
Are they not posting out the numbers this year

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,704 ✭✭✭✭RayCun

    Right, in for the lot.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,612 ✭✭✭gerard65

I'm in for the 5, 10 and half. Low number again this year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,708 ✭✭✭rovers_runner

Gotta wait until next week to see if I got into NY again, nearly hoping I didn't with the cost of it and all.

€115 for the lot seems inviting although not really saving much in that.
A ton for the lot would have seen the marathon numbers rise by a couple of thousand I reckon by giving people the natural progression through the 4 months.

I ran the three races last year and have just signed up for this year.

    Race number 27!

I was told that they will post out numbers that are not collected - this probably explains the large gap between collection date and race date.

    Race number 42 for me.

lads when is the best time to register for all 4, i mean would the 5 miler be full before the entry date closes???, i want to leave it as long as i can so if something happens say injury in late june..and i cant make some races, i wont lose out

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 24,144 Mod ✭✭✭✭robinph

Unsure if I want to do the marathon or not yet, but the idea of getting low race number is tempting me to put the money for the lot down now.

Thats why I booked now instead of waiting to know if I'm running the marathon. How sad are we? :pac:

    From another thread

    emerald007 wrote: »
If you are a BHAA member you can find your membership number by searching for your surname on

    http://bhaa.ie/members/dashboard

and then take the four digit number from the page displayed. Any problems just email the registrar or shout on the forums.

Damn it, I delayed too long and ended up with a three digit number. :(

    Hi,
just wondering if there is starting pens being used for the 3 race series ? The few years I did it (last was 2 years ago), it was a free for all start.

    Thanks,
    Salty.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,311 ✭✭✭xebec

136 for me :) Didn't put in the Marathon entry though, worth spending an extra fiver later in the year when I know for definite whether I'll be doing it...

They had waved starts for the Half last year, I'm not sure how they set that though as they only asked for a predicted time once you clicked for the full entry of the series.

Yeah, they brought in starting pens for the Frank Duffy last year.

Went for full three this year. Did the first 2 last year, coincidentally my first two races ever. And I haven't ran since due to college commitments.

    Wonder how I'll get on

Any indication given as to what the zones are ?

For the Frank Duffy last year they were sub 70, 70+, 80+ and 90+ minutes and for the half sub 100 minutes, between 100 to 120 minutes and 120 minutes+

Worked as well. The 5 was a disaster with no pens, waves.
I'm number 20, anyone got a lower number??

I was late to 5 mile so started by myself. Luckily I missed the commotion. I'm 115 or so I think.

20 - cool!! Is no.1 up for grabs or does the winner of last year get that?

I'd imagine the very low numbers are kept for the 'invited' athletes.
