Things were going well before we voted on the Nice Treaty....It was voted down...The slobs with no bottle in our Government who were only capable of tipping their hats to the heads of other European states said....We'll get them to vote again, the result being that a great number of east European states entered our cosy little set up. Not alone that red nose Bertie said let them all come to Ireland from the beginning with no restrictions. They came, took the jobs and will not go home because a week's dole here is more than they will get working in their own country. With all the extras thrown in these people have a great livestyle and they don't have to work. Most have contributed maybe two year's stamps, now they are set up for life. As for this cod of asylum seekers swimming from Africa, so they say, most don't know how they got here, have no papers when they arrive and claim they will be killed if they are sent home.
What they really mean is they will be killed when they are sent home if they do not bring a stack of money pilfered from the taxpayers of Ireland with them.
Now we the Irish...:mad:can't get jobs
:mad:are watched by foreigners when we are in our
shops in case we are robbing the stores
:mad:the security on most premises are run by foreigners
they get into fast food takeaways, get in their foreign
friends and any Irish person working with them
they make life intolerable for them, gang up on them
and force them to leave the job
what a country, all in the name of political
    correctness.
These foreign nationals and successful asylum seekers are laughing at us all the way to the bank. As for the Romanians they are laughing at us all the around the hotels they buy with money from their street begging and theft.
We have been had and are being had by a Government that has nothing more than self interest at heart.
We are a young educated people, says the Government spokespersons
    What they mean is:
We are a stupid uneducated people who haven't the bottle to get rid of us by street protests until we are gone....
The Government have bankrupted this country for generations to come. They can't believe it themselves that they are dealing with a nation of tolerable thicks...who will put up with anything.

    drdeadlift wrote: »

Africa is not a nation, it depends on the nationality of the person. Most nationalities from the African continent are visa-required for entry to Ireland (or to any Member State of the EU), but exceptions apply. There are circumstances where a person who is visa-required is entitled to enter Ireland without a visa.

There are also circumstances where a person may hold a valid passport and visa (work, study, visit) and so enters with regular status, but then voluntarily or involuntarily their status becomes irregular.

This is probably for another thread though.

If the east European labour was not available in this country none of the ridiculously priced houses and apartments would have been built. There would be no one to build them except the Irish.....and we know they are not hard workers in the majority of cases... The boom would never have taken place and we would not be in the mess we are in......My point made.....The above named Irish people jumped on the band wagon after the influx of labour they realised they could make a killing....The demand for housing increased as the new labour force needed a place to live....Speculators bought houses and apartments for rent to the migrant workers...It turned into a nasty circle..The result being what we have today...a disaster in every sense of the word....There is nobody actually running the country and nobody willing to run it....The opposition is a disaster They don't want to run it....:P

The accession states only gained entry to Ireland in 2004, so don't blame them for the property bubble, which popped in 2006.

    Is that true?
It certainly was true three-years ago the Eastern Health Board were giving Africans who came to them €3,000 to buy a car. Once they said they were being attacked on the streets - they were also given mobile phones and if they kicked up enough of a racked anywhere they usually got what they wanted. Taxi drivers hate taking them in their cars as they usually refuse to pay and argue over the price of the fare til it is reduced.
