Here's a link to a very interesting graph of diet supplements ranked by how much scientific evidence is behind them, and how popular they are.

In short - folic acid is important for pregnant mothers, and green tea can help fight cholesterol.
On the other hand, goji berries, echinacea and vitamin a supplements are a waste of time and money.

Goji berries- quite good for you but far too expensive for what you get. Very overhyped benefits but i wouldn't go as far as saying they're a waste of time and money.

Echinacea- depends on where you get it from. Health shop echinacea is very weak, get it from a herbalist if you want quality.

Vit A- most people need very little Vit A, at least if you're eating right as it's made in the body. eat plenty of carrots and you'll have plenty of vit A. It can be easy to take too much so care must be taken when supplementing with this vitamin.

Taking any vitamin supplements on their own is bad for you. Vitamins need to be taken in their original form, ie. fruit and veg, as they need to work with the other vitamins in these to actually be of benefit to you. If you're not going to eat the RDA, then have a look at taking Juice Plus. These are not vitamins, but fruit and veg supplements. The only ingredients are pure fruit and veg and you could not take anything more benficial, unless you eat 17 portions of fruit and veg per day (as this is what they contain). Many of us struggle to eat our 5 a day so you can see why they're so good.

I've been taking them for over a year and I notice a big difference in my health. I'm never sick and I feel so healthy and way more energised all the time. The reason I started to take them in the first place was because I don't eat much fruit and veg so they were perfect for me. I would definitely reccommend them to anyone.

Ehm no thats just not true and you're grossly over generalising the situation. Some vitamins and minerals taken in excess are dangerous to certain sub groups of the population but that's why we have both RDA and upper tolerable intakes limits to guide us and to regulate pharma companies producing supplements. Some vitamins and minerals function synergystically and are much more effective combined with one another but taking your supplements with food or in combination with one another tackles that issue. If supplements didn't work then why are they so effective for treating deficiencies? If they didn't work we wouldn't be able to cure anaemia, scury or any other number of clinical deficiencies and we wouldn't be able to see changes in blood parameters and other biological indicators of nutritional status. Fancy backing your statements up with something?
I agree maximising nutrition through fruit and veg is ideal but it's not always possible. Every female should be taking calcium and vitamin D at least as its nigh on impossible to get enough through diet.

Funny that, when you key in "juice plus" into the google box the first suggestion up at the top is "juice plus scam"
