Maps question on a Garmin

    Hi Folks,
    I’m new to all this GPS stuff and have a question...
    I’ve just got a new Garmin Nuvi 1340 and have installed the latest European maps, plus I’ve upgraded to the North America maps.. heading there on hols soon.
    I was hoping to set up some favourites for when I’m in America but when I search for shops/park/golf courses etc.. it doesn’t seem to search the North America maps. Its ticked (enabled) in tools – maps.

    Any help?

    When you get into the Where to? > Points of Interest screen, there's a button marked Near... at the bottom. This allows you to choose to search either near to where you are now (default) or to choose a different city (also including ones in a different country).
