A different dinner with minced beef

I've got a pound of mince in the freezer and I'm trying to think of a dinner for the next day or so (it's just me so a pound of mince will go far)

I want to try something new or failing that something I haven't eaten in ages. With mince I normally do chilli, pasta, burgers, had a meat loaf recently. I can't seem to think of anything I can make (that's on the cheap side too) anyone here any suggestions?

Jamie Oliver does a lovely noodle dish with mince beef and chillies.

If you're used to Jamie Oliver recipes, it's fairly easy and super scrummy!

    Those meatballs are good.

Else make Moussake with beef instead of lamb. Or Shepard pie (replace some of the mashed potato with mashed parnsip/turnip/carrot/pumpkin etc.).

    Cheap, healthy.

Or what about a mince curry?

    Chilli?

    Home made burgers?

That's a genuinely funny answer when the OP starts the thread by writing:

    :pac:

    Chilli beef wraps.

Cook beef, put in tortilla and fold. Slice open top of tortilla and put in sour cream, grated cheese and a few jalapenos.

    These are good too:

My regular mince beef dish would be shepherd's pie (cottage pie for the pedants ;)).

If you have loads for one person, stick it into a couple of dishes and freeze one.

    Cornish Pasties

    Mince
    Onions
    Half cooked Potatoes
    Salt & Pepper
    Egg
    Beef Stock
    Shortcrust pastry

Optional: Carrots,Peas,Turnip, Mustard, Parsley add these to mix before filling to bulk up or add flavour to the pasty.

Fry off Mince & Onions add rest and mix
Roll pastry to a cirle about 5mm thick and fill with mix
Close pasty & mix to make a parcel and seal tightly
    Glaze with Egg & Milk
    Bake for 40 - 50 mins @ 180

    OP
Continue cooking the classics but change one part of it or add to it
    For Example:
Cottage Pie with a parsnip / celeric topping instead of potatoes
Make your Mince into a tart with Puff pastry top and bottom
Bolognaise serve with gnocchi instead of pasta
Meatloaf once cooked take out of the tin allow cool slighty cover with Pastry /Puff or Shortcrust Or a step further make meatloaf Wellington a with mushroom duxelle and puff pastry.
adding : Make Chimichangas with your Chilli by wrapping in tortillas and frying until crispy
