    ignore the freebie section basically, far too many fakes on it and the real stuff goes very fast so you have to be sitting on it to get anything good

    oh coolio, i might give it a gander so. i've a rake of old cds that i don't want anymore cos I've digitised all my music, so i'm looking to flog them all. same with my dvd collection - digitised now, so no need to hold onto the originals.

    That would be illegal.

    You must delete any digital copies if you dipose of the original media.

    Huh? Not sure if that was a p1sstake or was serious. :confused:

    It was serious. You're keeping illegal copies of the DVDs you sell, which you can't do. Either keep the DVDs, or delete the copies. Anything else is a breech of copyright, so don't talk about it here.

    Erm....? But it's for private usage, so isn't that legal? I'm not propsing the mass production of dvds and selling on, simply stating that i will digitise my own dvd collection (all of which I've paid full price for) and sell the original copy. Is that illegal?

    Yup it is.

    When you buy a DVD you basically have a lincense to it.
    When you no longerhave posession of the physical object, you give up your license.
    Selling the physical disc, but keeping a digital copy is no different to making a copy and selling that, or making a copy and keeping it while selling the original.

    Of course, Adverts.ie is much better than Gumtree... ;)

    I am using Gumtree.ie here in Dublin. All was OK until today and I could bump my adverts up by directly clicking the link in the e-mail that was sent to me.

    Now when I do the same thing it keeps asking me to log in?? It has the advert reference number and I put my password in but no matter what I do I keep getting the error message below? Has anyone else has this issue?

    This webpage is not available
    The webpage at https://secure.gumtree.ie/account/login might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
    Error 102 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED): Unknown error.

    It makes no difference if I use Google Chrome or IE??
