As many of you will remember, one of our original Brotherettes, watna, abandoned us to go and live with the Kiwis a couple of years ago. Fortunately we didn't lose her for good and she's back home for a visit soon and would love to meet up with anyone who's around on Thursday, April 1st (apologies for the short notice, that's entirely my fault as I kept forgetting to start this thread - sorry watna :o).

The venue will be a Dublin city centre hostelry, no idea where yet, it all depends on numbers and what's available at fairly short notice. There's the obligatory poll up above, and if you have any suggestions for a venue, even if you can't make it yourself that night, please post them here.

Forgot to mention, that's the Thursday before Easter, or for those less religiously minded, the day before the pubs close until Saturday, just in case anyone needed a bit of encouragement.

As I said elsewhere - pfffft an Irish Kiwi in Dublin on April fools.. dunno sounds dodgy to me :P

Whilst I was there at your leaving do Watna, I'm afraid I don't think I can make it :( Visiting my sister that weekend. x

Right lads, let's discuss our options for a venue.

I am a culchie, therefore I only know of Flannerys and Coppers. *shudder*

So, throw out the suggestions. Preferably somewhere where the temperatures are above freezing.

    TP's or Karma?
They allow Kark people in by prior appointment so you should be ok ;)

    My apologies if so :)

I haven't been home in two years so my knowledge of pubs in Dublin has been wiped clean from my brain. I will bow down to the brothers superior knowledge!

I don't know tbh. I vaguely remember hearing that it was closed. Last time we were there is was absolutely freezing. You're lucky you missed that.

I will put my thinking drinking cap on, and post up a few suggestions tomorrow.

But, to help me are we looking for a place
    - where we could get a table or two
    - quietish pub

    or
    - a 'happening' place?

TPs could be a good bet, they have accommodated Boardsies before. Dav knows them I think so i might have a word with him.

I'd love to as we managed to arrange a mini Wellington beers with watna a couple of years ago, but if I put my sensible hat back on I should really be abstaining* still for the another three week'ish.

    * Nothing to do with the Cream Egg month we are currently in, but I'm running a marathon the week after so can't be drinking. Sorry for bringing up talk of things such as running to these parts as well.

Yep, I think they do but unfortunately I was limited for days for beers and I wanted to pick a night when people weren't in work the next day - so it's all my fault! :)

We'll just have to get as much in as we can before midnight.

The next Brian Garry Road Haulage beers have been booked for 7pm , upstairs in the Bull & Castle.

As this is now an official BGRH beers, please remember that if this is your first beers, you must bring a can of condensed milk. See here for a detailed explanation why.

    See you next Thursday!

    That is quite disturbing.

Just a reminder for anyone planning to come along tomorrow night (Bull & Castle, 7pm), the area we have reserved is under the name of Brian Garry.
