I used to remember walking into a Bar some years ago, and all you'd see along the Bar counter were pints of the black stuff.

Well not anymore there's a great selection of Larger's an Ciders now, But what happened to the Ale's, I used to drink MacArdle's Draught Ale or a Pint of Bass or Smythicks.

What's your favourite tipple when you call for a Carling, or Mable Black Label?

My favourite drinks are all spirits, but that's not an option in the poll ... unless spirits are included in "shots" :/

    Ale
Pints of Carlsberg but I rarely buy pints in pubs or niteclubs. Normally just drink half a crate of stella before going out or 20 bottles of bier d'or from tesco.

Guinness or a good straight whiskey.

I'm partial to a good wine... but you won't find that in a pub.

I can't choose, i'd almost drink anything but shots. I love Duvel, Estrella, San Miguel, Chimay, Leffe. Also love wine. Not the biggest fan of cider and love the odd whiskey. I feel old for my age but i like drink. Would avoid Heineken and Bud piss if i could but not much to choose from here unless you can pay the price.

Vodka. And occasionally wine/cocktails. I'd prefer to just drink beer but I've a useless wheat tolerance.

Ah... but you can feck off with your ice...

And I stick to my Irish whiskeys too!

I love a bit of black bush.

Very true - I'd a glass of Chardonnay earlier in the pub when I was watching the Ireland match & you could literally taste the feet that pressed the grapes, so I switched back to pints. Even the €4 bottle of spanish table wine I got in Tescos & had with dinner, tasted miles better (actually really nice).

Can't beat a good whiskey though, to end the day. I've been sipping at a rather lovely Bunnahabhain 25 year old since then. Yum.

    Alternate.

Prefer Guinness overall but I only really drink it when I'm in quiet local and not having loads.

If I'm out-out, I tend to rink lager, especially in spring and summer.

I luckily live next to one of the best off licenses in Ireland. Amazing selection of wines and beers.

And this evening one of my favourite affordable wines was reduced from €17.99 to €12.99..... I have guzzled two bottles!

No recession in your house (says the man sipping a £160 bottle of single malt scottish whisky). :p

True, but not as expensive as a pair of shoes for the missus & ultimatley more satisfying.

Drinking champagne out of a ladies shoe has it's merits though.

Although I'm not overly fond of champagne... but I do have a foot fetish.

    Milk.

If it's good enough for Paul O'Connell, it's good enough for me.

Don't really have a favourite alcoholic drink, all tastes like piss imo.

I have drank a lot of alcohol in my time, but never piss. Might give it a try though. As it probably has a high alcohol content, I've possibly been missing out on a good thing.

    Ale
I'm assuming that this is in a pub. Then it's usually a guiness or a good larger, like Hoegaarden.
If in a club, gotta be spirits. Can't be carrying a pint around a club
And if it were at home, a good larger or else some red wine

Start off with a couple of Guinness, then a few beers (Carlsberg preferably), and finish on the bourbon.
