Advice please

    Ok some background info. 26yr old female 5ft 10ins tall started my weight loss journey 10mths ago at 17st 7lbs am now down to 12st 3.5lbs (within healthy bmi at last :) done it through healthy eating & exercise. I exercise 6 days a week varying between caridio & resistnace training (sometiems both) & am generally pretty acitve. In the past month weight loss has really started to slow & in past 2wks only lost 2oz. I do realise this could be due to me building muscle now & I know things slow down as you get clower to goal (ultimate aim would be to between 11.5-12st) am fairly borad build.

    So any tips/advice as to how to get over this hurdle folks?

    Okay, I can't say for definite without seeing you, but I'd suspect that the reason is that you are already at or very close to your target weight. I have very similar stats to you, and there's no way I could get below 12 stone without serious health issues. At 12.3 I have veins popping my my biceps which means I'm into very low bodyfat.

    There are plenty of 5'10" women who can get lighter than that and be healthy, but I'm a typical wide-hipped type, and there is a limit to how low I can go. You'll have to be the judge of your own body, but go by your body, not some table that someone has produced.

    By the way, fabulous work. Mega congratulations on what you've already achieved.

    I agree with EileenG. I'm very sceptical about the bmi chart. It might be a rudimentary tool for assessing inactive overweight people it doesn't accurately assess people who are active.

    I'm 5ft3, I know people who are taller than me who weigh less. My ideal healthy weight is 8st7-9. Any less I'm too thin and I look guant, any more and it shows. If I get below 8st7 people will say I look terrible, I'm way too tiny and I need to put on weight.

    Like EileenG, I'm blessed with a grand pair of hips. Over the years I've learned what suits me in terms of weight and what my ideal weight is.

    I'm a big fan of pilates and yoga and if you keep within your ideal weight and do either regularly you'll see great results as well as building up your core muscles which helps keep your back strong and healthy.
