Look no one can say if you're completely ok but sometimes weird **** happens. One day I went for a run when I was hungry (hungry as in had missed dinner the day before and had crap for breakfast and was drained from triathlon training) and about 2k into a run I just went dizzy, started sweating like mad, thought I was going to be sick and could barely walk back home.

The feeling eventually passed and it's never happened since. Just take it easy for the first few sessions.

Yeah I agree with Canis Lupus in that, if you haven't eaten upto a min of two hours prior to doing a tough class like spinning and abs you will feel it.
I push my class in 45mins and if they havent eaten you can see them fading out.. not good at all.

If the instructor is upto to much, they will be asking you if there are any injuries or illnesses, etc please pull them aside and say so if you're too embrassed to say in front of the class.

Also a pulse check to ensure everything is ok there too.

If its your "time of the month" women more so, men its usually they become emotional:p.... but you need to be more aware of your body and how its feeling and whether you need to go more at your pace rather then those around you,-don't suddenly stop, slow down if you have to leave, dont vanish off in to the changing room without someone attending to you first, embarrassing and all as it maybe, its not much fun fainting and no-one around to assist

-Two hours prior eat something,at least have something on your tummy
-During class plenty of fluids, also it's not a race, I know you want to get an intense workout but you got to listen to your body too.
-Oh and one other thing it helps if you breath during class too!! Hope this helps. You body if like a well tuned engine it needs fuel to function, you cant run it on fresh air and expect to burn calories or do whatever it is you expecting to achieve by going to such classes if anything it counterproductive and can be detrimental to your health

as suggested, ensure no illness/medical issues are to blame and make sure you have eaten enough before hand to keep you going... also make sure you stay hydrated, that you're wearing working out gear that isn't going to make you overheat, and that the room is well ventilated... make sure you warm up enough, the instructor will build in approx 5+ minutes at the start of class to gradually get you ready for the session

it's important to get your bike set-up right, a qualified instructor will have asked for any beginners and assisted you in adjusting the saddle/handlebars and checked your pedal straps... an average 45min class you will do approx. 3600-4000+ revolutions so if everything isn't spot on you could be riding inefficiently (wasting energy) or potentially cause injury

Make sure you ride to your own rate of exertion (how hard you feel you are working, check out this article if you want some more info), the intensity you experience during a Spinning ride is up to you as you are in control of the resistance... a qualified instructor will guide you and challenge you but always offer choices, if you need to back out you can use a break for some air/water... I use a Heart Rate monitor when I Spin together with my rate of exertion this delivers the perfect training session for me on that day....

It is never the goal of a Spinning class for someone to be on the verge of fainting... use your options; chosen resistance, leg speed and position e.g. if you are in a climb where the music is selected to guide a 75-80 RMP leg speed/cadence in a Standing Climb on a Steep Hill, you could choose to back off the resistance and choose a Moderate Hill, and/or choose to do a Seated Climb, and/or choose to ride a little behind the beat (but no slower that 60ish RPM)...

Choose a way to be in control of your intensity... you can still challenge yourself but you will last longer, train better and be able to come back for more, which should like a good approach I hope :)
