I started trying to jog on a running machine last week and quite enjoyed it so did it 5 days in a row. Since then the inside of both my knees are sore when I walk and I think I may do further damage by jogging again. Does anyone know how to make it better and prevent it from happening next time?

Enthusiasm is great and all, but throwing yourself all in at something that is new to you isn't a great idea.

This isn't medical advice btw, but try easing yourself into it. Get on to the Athletics/Running forum.

Make sure you have properly fitted runners.

Go to a proper store and get your gait analysed so you have the right runners for the job. Fashion runner are no good.

Run on soft surfaces ie grass.

Build up slowly rather than breaking your heart on every run particularly if you are overweight.

Ultimately if it's joint/kneecap pain it does sound like something you'll want to see a physio about.
