Which is best as part of a snack/meal with fruit. I've taken to having a couple of small bottles, or one bigger bottle of yop, mainly for protein with fruit, such as an apple, banana and an orange as one and sometimes two of my meals each day. I do so because it's really easy to grab everything and run and I've taken care of two meals for the day. The thing is, I'm now thinking yops are processed and full of sugars so milk is probably a much better bet.

Correct - Yop drinks are laden with sugar... if you could have a pint of slimline milk its a lot less calories and no sugar

Yop is crap, read the ingredients on one. Milk, sugar, glucose-fructose syrup (sugar) and a tiny bit fruit puree. Less protein in them compared to milk too.

And more protein I guess. Meh. I've been drinking loads of yops with fruit for weeks now which could have meant I've been taking 2 steps forward and 1 step back in terms of that meal and my diet in general.

Are you sure you actually need extra protein? Most people eat more and than enough without even trying!

Not from what I've seen. To get a 40/30/30 split of carbs, fats and protein I have to eat about 150g of protein a day, most people would have a diet far to dominant in carbs to get that much in a day.

I'm doing a strength training program in the gym, three days a week.

Yops are crap. If you really cannot live without them then you would prob best have it just before/after training but milk is a much better option.

If you are looking for other protein sources cottage cheese is a great source. Aldi and Lidls stocked ones are higher in protein per 100gms compared to the yoplait brand. maybe through in some nuts with your snacks too - almonds and brazils ftw.

yes, time to cut them out so. Milk all the way from now. Never was into cottage cheese, might have a look in lidl this weekend. I'm used to throwing mixed nuts on things like my oats in the morning and salads...

If your looking to jazz it up a bit you could always get a pint of milk and throw in a spoon of cocoa powder. Shake until blended and drink. Nom

No! Pure cocoa powder. The only ingredient is cocoa powder which is very bitter but when mixed with something like milk or even mixed in with cottage cheese, it gives it a chocolatly taste. cocoa powder has no added sugar etc.

Tesco do a cheap one and green and blacks do one too. Again not any of those drinking chocs like nesquick etc as they are not even technically chocolate as sugar is often first on the ingredients.

Just look at the label - only ingredient will be cocoa powder.
