Public sevrants - are these numbers right?

    280,000 Irish public servants, compared to 533,300 UK public servants? I know due to economies of scale the UK can get greater efficiency out of there workforce with less workers, but surly this isn't right?

    There are 5.8m in the public service in the uk of those 520,000 work in the civil service.

    The UK have roughly 20% of their workforce working as Public servants compared to 17% in ireland pre-resession.
