Is Boards too PC?

A comment in another thread made me realize that in comparison to many other internet forums I use, Boards is pretty Politically Correct. I've seen many threads in which 'poor taste' jokes aren't laughed at like in other forums, or even ignored, but actively frowned upon. People here just seem to have a lower tolerance for more 'edgy' stuff in general. Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone else agreed, and whether people think it's a good/bad thing. Seems more bad than good to me, but that's possibly just because I particularly like offensive jokes.

Boards is fine the way it is. It's PC enough to cut out most of the trolling that goes on here as the reality is people more PC in real life than on the internet.

The boards site I used to be on used to be open warfare when it came to insulting people and quite honestly there was a lot of bullying going on. Then there was a weekly Big Brother vote where you could vote to ban a user for a week. Pretty childish stuff.

I don't think boards is too PC. Have a look at some of the humor that's tolerated in After Hours.

The lack of personal insults is what makes the site good. Go have a look at the comments for any random Youtube video to see the other extreme.

See if I'm feeling infantile I go to some forums, if I want to nerd out I go to another site, if I want casual chit-chat there's another site, if I want (semi-)reasonable political discussion there's forums I go to, if I want to ****, there's a few forum I go to, etc.

That's the lovely thing about the internet - you can have a variety of forums that cater to different people and sensibilities. And you can go to whatever ones best suit you.
