Okay here's the deal. I'm looking to loose weight. ideally as quickly as possible but without risking me health. I've been swimming at least 3 times since January I'm a stone and a half lighter than i was in November 2009 so i know its not x-mas weight. i now stand at 18stone. but over the last few weeks I've not been able to lose anymore weight. Have cut out takeaways and 90% of soft drinks. I buy my shopping on Sundays. Consciously taking the healthy options. I've also reduced the sheer volume of what i'm eating too. Has anyone come across this themselves and how did you get past it and drop some more weight.

P.S. i've cut down on smokes and drink is once a month now if that. also i have a very weak ankle so running isn't really an option hence the swimming. i don't want to try any of these hair-brained diets but i'm running out of patience

well done on weight loss so far. you need to post up an honest full days typical diet so we can see if there is anything to improve on .. swimming is ok, but three times a week might not be enough, and your body has probably become used to it by now, so you need to do some resistance exercise and skake things up a bit

I have a problem with my ankle being very weak. You wouldn't really notice it if I was walking/cycling/swimming but running it won't hold up. Have been the physio so strong as it gets they've told me

Preferably fast but don't want to put my health in danger you know. mainly around the belly and moobs I want to lose it. (don't want to bulk up at all) the lads make jokes and I laugh it off but sometimes it gets to me (i know this sounds super girly) and I'd like to do something about it.

If you want to, you've got to change up the diet - eat things that aren't nice.

If you want change you've got to commit. Theres no point in doing it half-assed, your only goin to get half-assed results!

If i was you, I'd cut out bread/milk/spreads/weetabix/anything thats a gimmick.

Breakfast - porridge or eggs + fruit

lunch - salad with tuna/chicken/eggs lots of green stuff

dinner - quarter what ma gives. ONE of my ma's dinners would feed a whole house!

snacks - nuts and fruit or yoghurt

If you don't want to put your health at risk then between 1 and 2 pounds a week is the norm to be losing. I've gone from over 21stone to just over 17 stone through weight watchers. You can sign up online if you dont want to walk in to meetings. Also get in to a gym if you can't run around, plenty of other machines to use, cross trainer is a great one, rowing machine is also great. I started off by walking 4-5 days a week before I got the confidentce to join the gym. if you break a sweat and maintain at least a 15 minute mile your heart rate should be working enough for you to drop excess pounds. Dont think by doing weight machines either will just bulk you up, they are great for your metabolism and there is plenty of threads on how to use them to tone yourself rather then keep on gaining muscle.

    Best of luck,

Steve, its not that hard - I've lost about 3.5 stone in a few months. Its not that hard to do, you just need to find a diet that you can stick to.
I followed this diet http://neilmct.com/neilmct-diet-plan.php there are of course free ones.

You also need to train right, swimming isn't the best for weightloss. you need to lift weights, heavy weights. Weights should be your workout, cardio should be supplementary to that.

    Any questions, just ask

your diet isnt VERY bad, but if you can only manage light exercise you need to tweak a few things. weetabix is ok, as long as no sugar but porridge and fruit (berries) would be better. i would not bother with mueller or any similar products.
for lunch have some fish / meat and lots of salad, or if you need a sandwich have whole grain bread.
for snacks have apples or fruit.
dinner should be a LOT of vegetables...

if you clean up diet a little and try to shake up exercise routine you will see good results, just be patient
