    Looks excellent.

The only thing I would query is the oats in the PWO shake. If you want an immediate protein hit (and as you are paying double for isolate, I assume you do), then drop the oats, they'll slow down the absorption. In fact, eat them before the workout, so they can provide a good low-gi energy source to keep you going. The one time simple sugar like dextrose (glucose) is useful is post workout. The whey and dex shake is a classic for a reason.

The reason I have included oats is to keep me some what full before my 12.30 meal

But that's not really the point of a PWO shake, that's supposed to feed your muscles, not your tummy. Why not have a whey and dex shake and then the oats an hour later, when the whey should be well on its way to muscle repair? Or at the very least, have whey concentrate rather than isolate? You are wasting your money on isolate if you are going to take it with oats.

In all honesty I am only looking for something thats healthy ,convienient and something that will keep me satiated till 12.30pm, i start work at 9.30 so it would be a little inconvienient to eat between those times, on whey is whey isolate and is relatively inexpensive compared some others, im not too bothered about the postworkout effect

I would like to be able to stick to that diet 7 days a week and not cheat but I am not sure if that is realistic, I love beer and wine and my pizza and indian take aways,Im not naive to think you can have these in abundance and get in great shape but I would like to think I can have them some of the time, I have heard that if your diet is good 80-90% of the time then its ok to splurge, how would recommend I do it, one cheat day or 3 to 4 cheat meals spread out through out the week

I'd say cheat meals are safer - I know if I have a whole cheat day I can easily go overboard.

I agree, a cheat meal is a nice treat, a cheat day will undo some of your good work and set off cravings for a few days.

One of the unfair facts of life. Men can often get away with a cheat day. Women can rarely get away with more than a cheat meal.

So true! My BF only has to think about trimming up and spontaneously loses half a stone. Not fair!

I will probably get flamed for this, and its a bit of a generalisation maybe, but from what ive seen guys are more likely to lose weight quickly because of:
    higher muscle mass
    less inclination towards comfort eating
less likely to go for fad diets or dramatic restriction of calories
less likely to jump on the scales every minute
much more likely to involve a high level of exercise / physical activity rather than conting every calorie.

I think the last one is the most important TBH.

@timetogetfit - if you want to succeed you need to stop over analysing and cut out the crap - for someone who constantly thinks you are depriving yourself if you dont have regular beer and crap food (im getting this message from some of your previous posts) you are better off having NO cheat meals / days, just break the cycle once and for all. best of luck

Even with all that taken into consideration men still lose more weight than women given equal muscle amount and identical diet. Women's hormones are predisposed to easy fat deposition unfortunately. But we have boobies, so it's a trade off :p

id be inclined to call BS on that. its very unlikely that a man and woman would have equal muscle mass if such an experiment were to be carried out, unless you were talking extremes in both cases! Anyway, women typically need less calories mainly due to lower muscle mass, so putting a man and woman on an identical diet wouldnt make sense!

LOL, boobies look better on women anyway, so ye are welcome to that pleasure :o:pac:

Ya ever watch the biggest loser? The women and men match each other in effort and diet and still the men lose almost double what the women lose in a week.

Increased lean body mass is a factor, yes, but really doesn't explain the whole story, it's more likely down to the fact that men have higher levels of growth hormone (GH) and testosterone than women do. Growth hormone and testosterone have a huge impact on the rate and efficiency of body metabolism. Men have an advantage in the dieting game and can get away with way more cheating than women can. Hence why when testosterone declines with ageing, men get middle-aged spread.
