PLEASE HELP!!! It is driving me crazy.....I cant get motivated to train anymore!! For the last two yrs prior to Aug 09 I trained 6 days a wk, enjoyed racing, Duathlons, timetrials etc!!! I totally gave up drinking too. I used to train every weekend but then decided to relax a bit so wkends were out!! I think the lack of my friends interest kinda de motivated me a bit or is that ridiculous?? Alot of my friends got peed off cuz I gave up drinking but I met lots of new ppl thru my climbing club and tri club!! I had my last race in Aug last yr, after that I havent done A TAP!!! PLUS had been training by myself most of the time.Keep going thru phases of training day on week off etc!! I just keep making stupid excuses......TV, missing all important phone call, too tired!!! Im now eating more too and drinking again BUT dont drink much ie one night out every mths!!!Im out of work at the moment and feel like I should be doing so much more with all my free time, when I was working full time I trained two hours a day!!! Im totally babbling now.......just sooooo mad at myself!!!!!!!!!!!!
    ANY ADVICE?????

    Hi,

Maybe you where overtraining so you need a break for a while, it does get boring....

I gym four times a week generallyand play soccer but I find it hard to get going these days for both! It was a lot easier when I was working.

Hard to motivate yourself to do anything when your not working. I am also out of work and applying to go back to do a masters at the moment, but some days I am so lazy I can barely put the kettle on!

I drank for the first time in months on Friday and blacked out and made an ass of myself, so I think I will have a few drinks the odd time now to make sure the body knows what it is, as the other night was worrying...

Haha I think Ive taken more than a break at this stage!!!God I know, first time I drank after being off it for long I was a goner too!!!!

I prob was overtraining a bit but I bought a racer last yr too and its just a waste having it hanging in the garage!!! Now friends who HATED exercise when I was training and tellin me I was a fitness freak are starting to pass me out with all their training!!!
Its horrible being out of work alright!!! Too many hours in the day but when working full time its like you try to fit everything in and make the most of your free time!!!

I blame Fianna Fail those shower of ****s!
They couldnt bring the banks to task because they were doing exactly the same thing, right rant over!

I was in a similar place after uni, I couldn't do a tap, for me it was the whole outa work thing, finally just got lucky and stared a job, so really the 1st thing is to find a job or take a course, after that things will fall into place.
I how hard it is at the moment, this isn't my first depression, times were real bad in cork in '88, I did a city & guilds in electronics during that time, then electronics in ireland took a down turn so i went to UCC and did a degree in computer science, that'll probably go down the tubes now.

    Chin up mate!

It probably is being out of work that is the main issue. I need more sleep these days even though I am doing less. I also had to move back in with my parents after living away from home for years which is awful, my mother dosen't even put the effort into her dinners like she used to. I could go on about the recession/not working all day though..

If you hear of any jobs let me know!!:)

Haha Thanks guys!!! Today I managed to go outside and run around with my dog!!!!
I also got paid today (not signed on)for my 12 hours work and got EMERGENCY TAXED and then rang office to fix it but got a voice mail saying "DUE TO INDUSTRIAL ACTION YOUR CALL CANT BE TAKEN AT THE MOMENT"!!!

Ugh Im going to try go out on the bike tonight I think for an hour but Ill up date ye tomorrow with my excuse for not going out!!!

Yea I was living away from home too, living at home now and my dad just keeps picking at me to tidy my room!!! Its driving me crazy!!! Got a bit of nail varnish on our couch today so trying to fing something to cover that up with!!! My brother is younger than me (23) and gets away with MURDER!!!

Anyway....I thought it being sunny outside would help a bit......even though I prefer winter training.......but it hasnt, its just motivated me to sit out and drink tea!!! I think I need to get it into my head to just do it!!! I actually went running three weeks ago when it was freezing in the evenings but I went with a few friends and it really helped but they dnt live where I live so cant meet up with them that much......ohhhhh......Im doing worst thing ever now and it s babbling about it, I should just do it!!!!
