First thing that comes to mind is 'don't buy the snacks in the first place'. Don't keep them in your home. It somes overly simple, but this is where you have to start.

Alfy101 i am on a diet at the minute and i find that the only way i can stop myself going off the wall on treats is to only buy exactly what i will need for a weeks treats and telling myself that if the 6 pack of treble crunch is gone in 2 days i wont be getting anymore for the next 4 days after that!! Same goes with chocolate etc i buy a 7 pack of 99 calorie toffee crisps and i have 1 a night with my cup of tea. i know if i eat more i will be without a bit of chocolate another night!!!
It might sound silly but its alot easier than if you buy a pack of biccies cos if you have or 3 (or 10!) it only means opening 1 packet!! When you get the treat individually wrapped it makes it easier i think!!
    Hopefully this might help you!
    xx

I get cravings like mad!! At the moment I make myself herbal tea, smells good, I focus on the smell while it brews, then drink it. It gives me some extra water intake (always good) and being a hot drink it seems to takes the edge off my cravings. Also, I usually drink peppermint, impossible to find a nice biscuit that suits that flavour so I end up just having tea.

It's hard to say no, espeically when all you want is that certain taste. :( But good luck, you've been doing very well so far, just don't look at the biscuits!!

hey, thanks for the heads up pll. :) today went great and all healthy :)

must try this green tea, i have my cappacheeno down to 2 a week from 3 a day lol

    slowy but surely

a friend recommended rescure remedy, its like 4 drips to water... meant to stop you craving..a nyone try it.. i find it hard to belive

i do think the tea idea mentioned above would be of some benifit and i like the idea of buying for the week, i never do a weekly shop i go when i need stuff so im in tesco 2 - 3 times a week. all to change

    thanks guys

I had the worst span of binge snacking I have ever had in my life! I had been dieting for a few months and was very very strict with myself! Didn't treat myself atall really and stayed off drink and did everything right, went to the gym every day, walked the dog a lot!! I lost 18lbs and then went on a holiday for 2 weeks... I came back last friday, kept binge eating right up till Sunday!! Went to the gym on Monday morning and I was up 7lbs!! :( 7lbs in 2 weeks! The thing is, because I was on holidays I decided I should treat myself, but when I did treat myself once I just couldn't stop. I just kept eating and eating like I had no control over it.
I am getting back on track now but I am putting the slip up down to the fact that I hadn't been treating myself enough for the past few months! I was too strict on myself and then when I got a taste of something nice I just wanted more.. and more... and more!! :o So, best way to avoid binge snacking imo is to plan ahead with your meals and snacks the night before and stick with it. Allow yourself one day a week where your not so strict on yourself and you can have something really nice!! Don't deprive yourself... have it, but plan it!!

Replace non healthy snack with a healthier one. I've cut out biscuits and most chocolate snacks by keeping a big bag of mixed nuts (almonds, hazlenuts, walnuts, brazil nuts, cashews) in my desk in work. They're pretty tasty, good for you and it takes the edge of until your next meal.

Try a few bags of portion sized seeds, like the Munchy seeds, or the Good4U ones. They are ideal for picking at, without going over the top.
