I'm just wondering if anyone knows what the stance is if a victim in their statement as a witness lies about a collateral issue?

Search for perjury on here, I think there are a few threads on it.

What the stance is? From who? The judge, the defence, the prosecution, the law, the other witnesses, the person who knows they're lying?

Ah i just had some work to do with regards the collateral issue rule, and was a bit worried that i didnt have any material on it, but luckily i just had to think hard enough to try remember all the issues and exceptions around it. Thanks for your replies though :)

ps... just for the record, i didnt specify the conditions correctly.... the concept revolved around the admissability of evidence proving that a witness lied about a collateral issue..... and i couldnt remember if it was admissable or not.... tis grand know tho :)
