For a beginner, the 50 Cal can be pretty unforgiving with it's recoil. So I'd say best to stick with the Intervention first.

It's a shame for sniper newbies the WA2000 and M21 are earned after quite a while ranking up. I think the M21 is earned at like level 52-58.
They are the easiest to use because being a semi auto and very little recoil makes it basically an extremely long range rifle. More often than not they are 1 shot kills, you'll get that 2nd shot off with them very quickly if need be.

    Perks..

Obvious ones to use are Sleight of Hand, Stopping Power and Steady Aim.
Personally I use Ninja Pro because the need for hardscoping is not really needed anymore.

Playing Harcdore, I only use cold blooded.

    Attachments..

I prefer not using anything other than FMJ.
ACOG on Scrapyard or Rust occasionally, very seldom though.
Silencer for the most part playing Hardcore.

It's silly not having stopping power on a sniper unless it's hardcore, unless you like hitting people, not killing them and them killing you.

Easy fix for the camo problem you have too, don't lie in the grass...also how is it noobish to have blue tiger/red tiger/fall? They aren't easy to get...

they are if you use the sniper class enough

Is it just me or is that not a very noobish set up for a sniper .......the amount of snipers I kill because they don't have cold-blooded is unreal . As soon as the opposite team gets a uav youre buggered , or if anyone on their team is using thermal youre buggered . Like say on wasteland you can spot the enemy snipers a mile away . Also I see alot of snipers using fall or red/blue tiger on their gun camo . Very noobish lol
If youre lying down in grass youre impossible to see but youre rifle can be seen easily . Wasteland - woodland camo . Afgan - desert camo

im a noob because i get the most out of my sniepr rifle??...why would i use cold blooded and kill them in 2 shots 90% of the time when i can kill them in 1??..my k/d is 2.25, it works for me!..ive no reason to change it

I have to say, i've never noticed the camo on the gun of a guy I killed, ever. The only time I ever notice gun camo is in kill cams.

I just unlocked the WA2000. It's ludicrously easy to use in contrast to the Barret or Intervention.

I usually just use a Scar with an Acog or a Tar with a holo, I'm a fairly muck sniper, but the WA2000 is a beaut. Double tap ftw. :pac:

the wa2000 is a pretty solid gun for me personally, I like getting one shot kills and running to the next area after the sound of my barret rips a hole in the ozone layer. :)

I've had to switch "stopping power" for cold blooded, there seems to be more snipers around now on search and destroy, and they all have(at least the guys that get me ) the thermal scope. On a map like wasteland it's easy to pick you off)

Doesn't the ACOG improve the zoom??

what your thinking of is that it improves the range . the little bar that goes up wen u select acog?

No, the "little bar" doesn't go up when you select ACOG.

Think about it in real world terms. How would any type of scope increase the distance a bullet travelled. Because that is what is meant when IW used "range" on those little bar charts. And if its like MW, those little bars probable don't have any relevance to the weapons actual in-game stats.

My set up is : M14/21 EBR
    Silenced
    Throwing Knife
    Stun Grenade
    Marathon Pro
    Cold-Blooded Pro
    Steady Aim Pro

I found I liked the EBR just a bit more than the WA2000, it's fire rate is just a little bit better, which allows me to get the two shots off you need to put people down with these settings. It's got low recoil which makes it good for the kind of stealth work I like to do. You can burn through magazines quickly though with its fire-rate, so a bit of practice is needed to get the best out of it.

My sniper tip is, no matter how much pride you have, try not to get involved in an on-going sniper battle with one person- there are so many other 'stragglers' you could be picking off while your tussling with another sniper, trying to get the upper hand and style points on them.

that's not sniping if you are expecting to take 2 shots to put somebody down imo. That's just asingle fire AR with more zoom.

The end result tends to be the same though. Sniping's not about art, or aesthetics, it's about getting a kill.
