Simple Diet Plan

Hey ok so I've been trying to get my bodyfat down for the past few months and I've been hitting the gym 4 or 5 times a week but not seeing much results apart from general fitness. I'm looking to get down to a low enough bodyfat percentage under 10% in order to get a six pack and if possible gain some muscle mass especially my arms and upper body.

I've done quite a bit of diet research on the the Internet but all the diet plans are usually quite complicated and american based so you wouldn't know what the equivalent food was in Ireland. If anyone can advise me on maybe a few simple examples of a daily diet plan which would help me to reach my goal it would be much appreciated.

    Cheers!:)

ok so I'm 5ft 6, 143 pounds. Weekday daily diet would be

Breakfast: Cereal (Weetabix, crunchy nut) + 2 slices of toast the odd time

Lunch: Usually maybe just a tin of salmon or a bowl of soup

Dinner: Whatever my mam cooks, anything from steak to a grill or a salad.

Snack: Coffee/Tea with 1 sugar, Popcorn maybe a few sweets.

The weekend is pretty much the same but every 2 weeks or so I usually get takeaway which would be a portion of chicken wings, Half portion of chips and a glass of pepsi.

So I know its definitely not the ideal diet but if anyone could give me an example of a good daily diet I would appreciate it.

Definitely improve the breakfast. There was a study which found that overweight women who ate eggs for breakfast lost more weight, including more bodyfat and more inches round the waist than the control group that ate the same number of calories of bagels.

Eggs make an excellent breakfast which will keep you going all morning. Failing that, porridge is a classic for a reason.

Tinned salmon is fine, throw it on top of some salad and you have a decent meal. Tinned soup, not so much.

Dinner sounds okay, just make sure you pile on the veggies, and go easy on pasta, rice, spuds etc,

If you can, learn to love tea or coffee without sugar, Maybe try some green tea or other flavoured tea that doesn't need to be sweetened? Or a squeeze of lemon instead of the sugar? Same with the sweets. Maybe some nuts instead?
