Maybe I'm just jumping to conclusion but I bus/walk thru a number of housing estates on my way home (ones that I reasonbly assume are home to low-income families) and there seems to be a disproportionaly high number of redheaded kids running around/playing in them. This got me thinking that maybe redheads are at a disadvantage in life and that they do have to work harder to get places in life?

Also the reason I mention redheaded kids is because there seems to be more of them per sample than in the adult population. This got me thinking that there must be lots of adult redhead out there who are dying their hair habitually? I'd love to know is there any natural redheads on here male or female who dye in order to negate this supposidly non-existant problem?

I knew of two different dudes who dye their hair black to hide the redness.

Though one of them has finally embrace the red life!
Nothing wrong with red heads and the near obsessive jokes that spill out of people at times is a bit creepy.
Like plain and simple...get over it.

The odd joke here and there but some of them are plain nasty and not funny.

I have seen overweight people have these things said to their face. You can see in their face the fcuking humiliation they feel.

That is a form of discrimination without doubt.

It's discrimination yes, racism no because we are not a race...yet.

It's quite ridiculous that Irish people slag redhead people, especially when redhead discrimination emerged from anti-Irish sentiment.

Also the term is "redhead" not "ginger", we're not British or American. I find more often than not that people who use "ginger" are South Park fanboys.

For me it wasn't discrimination but bullying in school. I was a bright redhead in school and one particular pr*ck would make fun of me in front of the class until I called him out with nobody in sight. I kicked the living sh*t out of him and hurt his ego so much he sent his mother around to my home where she found out the true story of her little lad. I earned the respect of my class which was not my intention that day but I will not put up with any form of bullying on any scale by any person. Redheads are people and people deserve respect.

There are only about 10% of people who are red-heads in Ireland and I believe discriminating against them is know as 'gingerism' - I read it in some magazine.

It's not racism but many red heads are victimised due to the colour of their hair.

I'm old enough not to give a **** what other people think about it, I love my red hair, it stands out from the crowd and people that mock it only do so cause they're jealous wasters. I should point out though that I've not really ever had the piss taken out of me cause of my red hair, more foreigners begging for pictures and randomers trying to touch it :O.

I just feel sorry for red head kids in school now..children can be cruel and all these recent jokes and taking the piss out of red heads is no doubt going to make these kids a target in the playground.

Try taking the words 'red heads' out of the joke and replace it with blacks or Irish ect and then see how wrong it sounds.

And regards minority groups red heads are a minority, the gene is dying off and the only way a child is born with red hair is if both parents carry the red head gene. Scientists have predicted that in a few hundred years the colour will have died off completely

I think the red heads here need to seriously lighten the fuck up (pardon the pun). You'd swear you are a group who have endured centuries of persecution. Almost all the red head slaggin is in light fun. It's not like you people won't get a job or be allowed into bars because of the colour of your hair.

I rip on my mate for having red hair, he rips on me for having big ears. It's called having light hearted banter. Someone earlier said he endured bullying, that is not acceptable, there is a difference between having a slag and bullying.

So to all you sensitive red heads, get a sense of humour, and while you're at it, get a soul aswell :pac:.
