Probably around Backlash time or atleast just after it.

Would make some sense I guess if Batista returns to Raw fulll time, two heel Monsters trading places.

There's a three hour Raw booked for late April or May, I think, so it might be happening then

No need surely, the lad is doing fine on Raw. Guys like Swagger and Bourne need to be drafted ASAP. Also the axis of evil Orton/Cena/Hunter need to be split, send Orton to SD, no point in even contemplating that Hunter or Cena will be sent their.
Oh and it will be a week or two after Mania.

iirc last year it happened right in the middle of the build to backlash so we had the situation where people who had just left their brands were still booked in title matches for that brands belts.

Its usually in April i think

I would imagine Cody and/or Ted will go to SD since Legacy is over

As i have said many many times i'd love to see Christian on SD :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,013 ✭✭✭✭jaykhunter

I was looking for a date I couldn't find one. First they were thinking a PPV around a draft but that's dropped now. It'll be in late April/Early May (i.e. somewhere around the 'backlash' PPV) on a 3 hour RAW. If I see a date I'll post.
    Christian gets drafted to Superstars

SD is the place to be at the moment. My ideal swaps would be:

    To Raw:
    Jackson
    Kane
    Punk
    Regal

    To SD:
    Christian
    Orton
    DiBiase
Masters (I think he could make a big impact there)

cant be seperating Punk from Serena and Gallows now

    They'd 'follow' him there no?

I think last year the draft was before Backlash, but nobody actually moved until after Backlash

Punk is much better off on SmackDown. He would be another who gets lost in the shuffle behind HHH and Cena on Raw.

Swagger and MVP are 2 who would benefit from a switch to the blue brand.

Id love to see Taker moved to Raw.. He's been on Smackdown now since the Brand Extension in 02 so he could really do with a change imo..

Id hate to see Punk on Raw, he'd totally get lost in the mix, I think the Smackdown brand could be built around him, Jericho and Batista, and eventually when he's a heel on the level of say Orton, move him to Raw.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,206 ✭✭✭✭Rjd2

No need to move guys like Punk and Sheamus who are doing awesome on their shows. I would like to see Kofi on SD though, I admit he is doing ok on Raw but with Cena and Vince's chosen few firmly entrenched on Raw he's never going to get a real main event run.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,391 ✭✭✭D2D

    Here ya go, jayk

According to the official website for The Richmond Coliseum, the three-hour WWE Monday Night Raw on April 26 in Richmond, VA will feature the 2010 WWE Draft featuring stars from Raw and Smackdown.

I really hope DiBiase, Bourne and Swagger go to the blue brand. Ted is ready for the major push now imo and Swagger and Bourne need to go to SD just to get more exposure and to get a better push than they have/get on Raw.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,518 Mod ✭✭✭✭DM_7

The rosters are in pretty good shape at the moment. It would be good to see swagger on smackdown.

Are they going to turn Orton face or what? If they do he would be brilliant on Smackdown.

It looks that way atm but anything could happen. Shur, it was meant to be Ted turning face instead of Orton.

As much as I'd love to see it, I can't see Orton going to the blue brand. If the rumors of Triple H taking time off during the summer are true, Raw won't be in good shape main event wise (Only Cena will be the big star) so they'll prob keep Orton on Raw and draft a top name from SD over to Raw.

At least they're won't be any burying at this draft unlike the way ECW was treated the past 2 drafts. I'm hoping SD doesn't suffer in the draft as well, it's by far the best wrestling programme imo

When you put it like that i wouldn't be surprised to see orton stay where he is, becoming a face and jericho moving to raw.

Tbh i think Smackdown always comes off worst in the draft, its basically the feeder ground for Raw, obviously ECW then became the whipping boy for both brands but Raw always raided Smackdown badly (The year they took Cena was a particularly bad one if i remember correctly) but somehow Smackdown always managed to get on with it and still be the better show..

For some reason, I can see Punk heading over to preach the Straight-Edge lifestyle on Raw. I hope Y2J stays on SD, 1 of the main reasons I watch SD is because of him and his awesome promo's

SD got Batista in that draft as the last pick (it went on for about a month if I remember correctly) so the damage wasn't that bad. SD is awesome because they can push the weaker stars and always get's the more interesting feuds, even when they clearly have a weaker roster. I've noticed that recently, a lot of superstars drafted stay on their "new" brand for a year then go back to their "old" one.

HHH is a good example of that.. Thats the Raw creative teams fault to be honest Smackdown and ECW push guys then they end up on Raw and barely get a look in or are jobbed out, Swagger, MVP, Bourne, Carlito, just a few that spring to mind

HHH was brought over to SD because of a) the lighter schedule and b) ratings - the debut of SD on MyNetwork TV

Swagger, Bourne and M.V.P need a move to SD, they are lost in the pack over on Raw. Carlito is underused but I think it's WWE's way of treating him after his outburst of why he wasn't used properly

I don't know if any of ye spotted it but in the opening intro video of last Friday's SmackDown on Sky Sports (ya know, with the theme song and the pyro),
    The Miz
was in it and it wasn't a quick glimpse of him, he was in it 3 times. I had to rewind it to make sure it was him.

I've tried looking up YouTube for it but all that's up is the Australian version with the intro video cut out.

    I think the possibility of
    Miz
going to SD is very likely just looking at it.

The PWTorch Newsletter reports that WWE will not be having a celebrity guest host for the three-hour April 26 edition of RAW, which will feature the WWE roster draft. WWE isn’t planning to announce a host for the show in order to keep the focus on the draft itself.

There is rumours of Edge or Jericho getting drafted to Raw as their feud is likely to finish at the Extreme Rules PPV

I can see Jericho on RAW again. They need another heel on the show.

Could that not be because he has the tag titles so he'd can be on the show anyway? Hope he isn't moved, he just fits Raw much better but as long as he has the titles I guess it matters not

Could see Orton and Edge swapping , hopefully Punk stays on SD . Henry to SD maybe Khali to Raw

The WWE Supplemental Draft takes places Wednesday, April 28 on WWE.com, two days after the main draft takes place on Raw. It will be hosted by Howard Finkel, starting at Noon ET (5pm our time and I think it's 1am BH's time)

I reckon Edge goes to Raw. Sheamus to SD is a big possibility I would imagine.

only a 7 hour differenc now so its at midnight when im usually online here :) thanks for the mention though i always forget start times cos time differences seem to keep changing, weird thing is its never our time that changes always europe or americas.

after the draft we will see a lot of future endevours imo as those not currently being used and not drafted may get cut as in previous years (when even some drafted were let go soon after).

Agreed, a couple will be future endeavored. Last year, 6 people were gone after the supplemental draft and some weren't used (like Knox, Primo etc....)

There has been less talk and sure changes this year for the WWE Draft than any year in the past. Nobody seems to know what’s planned but that’s normal as even the top guys aren’t told if they’re being moved until shortly before the Draft.

Batista is said to be a candidate to be moved, depending on his contract talks with WWE. Randy Orton is also speculated to be sent to Smackdown but neither of these moves are confirmed.

Edge or Chris Jericho is expected to be sent to RAW, especially since their feud seems to be coming to an end this Sunday at Extreme Rules.

Since Mickie is from Richmond, VA (where the draft takes place)...

    From Wrestlezone
WWE Universe has several threads up on fans upset over the firing of many stars that were reported to be released, there have been some threads on Shelton etc, but Mickie James Fans are going to RIOT Sunday night at Extreme Rules and at The WWE Draft on Monday Night Raw in Mickie's hometown. Many seem really upset over the fact their hometown girl wont be there. There are many threads up on this topic in several of the sections in WWE's forum on the WWE Universe website and some people are even planning on ordering Extreme Rules because of this. The following are some URLs to threads on the subject:

There's even a thread comparing Mickie James' release to Candice that looks pretty interesting. There are many more threads popping up on there as well as a twitition up and there's been talks of spreading this through facebook, myspace etc. As some fans want Mickie and Katie on TNA and other stars. http://twitition.com/m4fh8

All I can say is Extreme Rules and Raw next week should be awesome. Will be very interesting to see how the fans respond to the releases especially Mickie James being released. I know I'll be at Raw!

    In relation to tomorrow's draft:

The WWE were producing a commecial yesterday for Smackdown's SyFy debut, potentially giving away some superstar drafts.
    Cody Rhodes and Kofi Kingston
    were both in the ad.

I think Kofi needs to go to SD anyways since he will prob get a decent push on there and since Di Biase is bringing in a new stable it means Cody can also get a push on SD

    COME on Laoch Pants!

    Sheamus anyway.

Not sure who else but a good chance of
    Bourne
    Carlito

MVP or Mark Henry, perhaps even both to keep going as a tag team. I actually wouldn't mind seeing them continue as a team, and its a great way to use both of them. But not on Raw, they need to go to Smackdown
