Getting cleaned at half back and half forward lines but we are still level.

    Somehow........

How did we win that, sounded like we were awful tbh. Scored 4 goals though but Wexford threw that away.

Wexford will give Waterford a good rattle anyway, hopefully they'll be hurting bad after that and really push for a win.

We've got a lot of things to work on. I know it's only the league but we all know we need to find more players and you can't just change gameplans at a switch. I would have thought the half-forward line out there would have been enough to win a few ball, but Wexford won everything... Our half-back line did come into the game, but still were under pressure from puckouts.

We seemed to take an awful lot of quick ones, so at least we are aware of the problem, I suppose.

Backline did come hugely into the game in the 2nd half tbf, conceding just 0-9 compared to 3-9 is a huge difference. McCarthy, Walsh & Wayne all seemed to step it up a huge amount. Tom Ryan really seems like a huge loss to the panel- without Condon we were grasping at straws, Dodge could have gone back.

Yer some thieves lads, that's twice now :D

Is there any chance this route one stuff is being deployed solely with a focus of beating Clare? They use their wings backs to overlap a lot, as well as not having the greatest HB line, and have leaked goals from ball quickly pumped in on them.... Maybe I'm clutching at straws but there has to be some reason behind it.

Let's hope the footballers can build on that! Killian Phair & Peter Nash start for Mikey Lyons & Micheal Brosnan.

    An absolute must-win.

4 goals though lads having not created anything before, Dowlings might have been fortunate but Fireball mentioned Hannons chance. Were any of ye there no?

Sean O'Dea off injured already, commentators not sure who is on. Huge blow, and even bigger blow for the 21s on Wednesday night, one of their best players. And radio link to Wexford gone again.

Seems unlikely tbh. I hope not.

Hannon's chance was only just before the goal by Breen though. It is encouraging to get 4 though, if nothing else.

Sounds like Hanalei may have been there.

0-2 to 0-0 down, already missed a couple of point chances and Darragh Treacy just had a goal chance saved.

It's Cahill on for O'Dea, and Wexford's full-back, James Breen, had to go off with an injury too.

Cahill has just kicked our first score.

Goal for WX, not going well :(

1-2 without reply, Buckley did great work to set up Treacy for a goal- Buckley and Lee beforehand.

And now another goal, screamer from Nash!

Great reply to going a few points down, a must-win game but we're 3 points up now. Sligo absolutely hammering Louth, so really do have to win.

Just a point ahead now, very very tight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Wexford drew level, Phair points a free to put us back in front. Desperately need to hold on now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Seanie Buckley has received a 2nd yellow, and he's gone. Everyone confused apparently but a huge loss, he's been Limerick's best player.

Really valuable point, Jamie Lee hits a point while we're down to 14.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Straight red card for Michael Furlong, 14 men apiece now.

    Please hold on.

John Riordan kicks us back into a 2-point lead!

    Level again :(

And we lost it, heartbreaking defeat. FFS

Desperate result for the footballers they probably deserved a point would have gone a long way to keeping them up.

Sounds like the hurlers most definitely didn't deserve a win but we'll take it, flukey goals and all. Sounds like the backs were asleep for most of the first half and we done nothing but lob in high ball all day - desperate stuff but we'll take it. Well done john fitz.

Kilmallock players will bolster squad, but we need more, young fellas, tomas ryan, Dempsey, KOD all need to be given a chance.

    Looking forward to the highlights.
