    Hello everybody,
I am a fifth year student currently considering studying architecture at higher level in the academic year 2011/2012. I am looking to study in Dublin, so it seems like its between DIT and UCD.
Firstly, I have a question regarding the application procedure; Is it still necessary to compile a portfolio to gain admission, or have the aptitude tests replaced these? Are the points stated on qualifax (592 and 480 respectively) a combination of the portfolio/aptitude and Leaving Certificate? Is there a certain mark I must receive in any one subject? And is there a minimum mark you must gain in both the aptitude test/portfolio and Leaving Certificate individually, or does it not matter just so long as your total points combined add up to the required score?
Secondly, what are the pros/cons of each course? Is there one that is considered superior than the other?
Sorry about the long post, and any information would be greatly appreciated.

Not neccessary to have a portfolio, but if you are serious about getting in the course its a must

    Yes there a combination

Im not sure about the aptatude test but im pretty sure there is a certain score (possibly 40) in which you need to reach plus your actualy leaving cert results and that is your total

Believe it or not but DIT is considered superior in the professional field with many lectures holding high positions in the RIAI, and have years of valuable experince and are always around to help with good facilites and atmosphere.

Any other technical matters involving points and subjects required check out qualifax.ie
