I am male, 32 years old and I weight 14.9 st (the heaviest I ever been) I am 5.8 ft tall. I have tried so many diets and failed terribly with it as I felt I was hungry, moody and depriving myself too much! I have a very active job where I am on my feet 10 hours a day, so I need a diet that will help me feel fuller and satisfied for a longer period of time.

I have tried weight watchers and kinda liked their system but I felt it wasnt for me, as I didnt have the time to calculate every food I was taking in.

    Cheers for your help!

Second piece of advise is to post up a daily typical diet that you would consume.

I'd cut down your carbs, up your protein and fill yourself up on fresh vegetables (non-starchy ones not potatos!) first and foremost and a small amount of fruit at every meal.

You can eat yourself full and still lose weight as long as you choose the healthiest and most nutrient dense foods to eat. You can eat steamed brocoli till the cows come home and still not get fat so deprivation is a completely unnecessary part of many diets.

Similarly I've heard it's very hard to overeat animal protein, chemicals in protein tells your brain that you're full and don't need to eat again any time soon so it's always good to get some clean unprocessed protein in at every meal to make sure you feel satiated for a good long time.

Try beans, lentils, eggs, nuts, seeds, fish (oily is best), lean meats like chicken breast and good quality mince.

You might find that simply cutting out all sugar in your diet (from processed foods, junk foods, fruits etc -you'll need to read lots of labels to cut it out properly) and grains/potatos will work without worrying about the finer details.

I've been limiting myself grain/potato wise to just having porridge for breakfast most days and I've been losing a good bit of weight even though I wasn't trying to and I'm terrible for exercise in the winter. I've also been eating a lot of carb heavy veg like sweet potatos and carrots and loads of beans and lentils and still losing so I think just being a bit carb conscious can work without going for the whole haul of actually calculating exactly how many grams of carbs you eat a day and all that (I can't do anything that requires sums in any form I just don't care that much :p)

Have you checked out the food diary sub-forum yet? There's a few girls on that that are basically following that approach and have lost phenomenal amounts of weight.

I think the single most important step to changing anyones diet is increasing the amount of veg eaten at every meal, if you are filling up on them you can only eat so much of the stuff that's gonna make you put on weight.

what diets have you tried? you don't need a gym membership to lose weight, just dedicate an hour a day to cardio exercise...
