Hope someone can help me. I am currently 28 and after xmas weighed 17st I have been playing handball (60 - 120 mins) nearly everyday between then and now and have got myself down to 15 stone with 38% BF.

The diet that I'm on is 1500 kcal a day. The dinners etc vary but try to keep fat down.

I have recently started to take up weight lifting again and was hoping someone could give me some advice on how often i can workout for both handball and weights.

Is it a bad idea to play handball everyday ? - no rest ?

Also is it even a good idea to lift weights whilst on a diet ?

Please any information will be greatly appreciated. My friend has asked me to be the best man at his wedding and I really want to cut down as much as possible.

youve made huge progress so your on the right track. maybe start with body weight exercises and compound lifts but any resistance training is good. whats your typical days diet? I dont know much about handball (even if something to the contrary has been suggested on a certain other forum :(:pac:) , does it raise your heart rate significantly? it is possible that other forms of cardio might be better

Basically handball is racquetball without the racquets. I have checked online and they say that a hard workout would burn 1000 calories plus an hour. I play one of the best guys in our club so I often go threw 2-3 t-shirts covered in sweat.

My typical diet would be a bowl of special k or bran flakes low fat milk every morning a bananna if I have them in the house.

Wholemeal sandwich with 3-4 slices of good ham, sliced egg and sweetcorn for lunch

Dinners are usually chicken, fish, pasta etc but I do have very little potatoes and pasta. Lots of vegetables.

Throughout the day I would eat a good bit of fruit, apples, oranges and pears etc but generally keep under 1500 cals

Is it bad to snack on fruit if hungry in the evenings. Now I'm no saint and I have slipped up sometimes but generally keep it healthy.

Can you over exercise from to much cardio? Do your muscles need to repair themselves ?

By the way thanks for the reply ;)
