It probably tasted better than any meals they'd be serving on-board though

Actually, I've reconsidered. If you're stupid enough to uy a ryanair scratchcard, it's not beyond the bounds of possibility that you're stupid enough to eat it.

Ryanair probably would have charged a 100000 admin fee for cashing it anyway.

Crew tried to stop the air Gourmet Scratch Card eater by offering him one of our great tasting sandwiches, pizzas or snacks instead

Not surprised he chose the card so. Much tastier what with all the scrapings still on it and probably less expensive than a Ryanair brand sambo.

    AH Answer:
prob tastes better than, and is cheaper than the Ryanair food

    Proper Answer:
Fucking eejit, what was he thinking. Did he honestly expect them to have €10,000 just lying around on board the plane?? He doesn't deserve the €10k tbh

    Ryanair passenger eats scratch card

An airline passenger ate his €10,000 winning scratch card after he was told he could not claim the money immediately, it emerged today.

The unnamed man was flying with Ryanair from Krakow in Poland to East Midlands Airport in Britain when he won €10,000 with the scratch card.

Crew on board the flight confirmed he had won the prize but told the passenger he would have to collect the jackpot directly from the company that runs the competition as it was such a large sum.

Ryanair said the man then became frustrated and started to eat his winning ticket, ruling out any chance he had of claiming the prize money which will now be donated to charity.

Stephen McNamara, a spokesman for Ryanair, said: “Passengers have always been delighted to claim their large cash prizes after returning home.

“Unfortunately our latest winner felt that we should have his €10,000 prize kicking around on the aircraft.”

The airline asking people to vote online to decide which charity should recieve the money. Voting will take place until March 5th.

 taking our jobz and eating our money! :pac:

how cheap are ryanair having scratch card game, bingo next?

well he was flying to the uk, so there's no indication that he was planning to take any of 'our' jobs, and he won the money, so he wasn't eating 'our' money.

Ryanair are letting you vote on which charity the money goes to:

    1. An Anger Management Charity
    2. An Eating Disorder Charity
    3. A Gamblers Charity
    4. A Disruptive Children’s Charity
    5. A Mental Health Charity

    Nice

yes, and ryanair are not us, ergo, the cash was not ours.

i challenge you to go up to michael o' leary and ask him to give you 'our' money. i'll double whatever he gives you. the cash is in our aston martin. by which i mean james bond's aston martin, but he's human so i own it too, right?

I'm confused.... did the passenger have some sort of psychological disorder?!

No, not at all, it's perfectly normal behaviour to sulk and eat a €10K winning ticket. I wouldn't hesitate for a second in chewing one up.

    Exactly what I was thinking.

The article is from a press release, which appeared on the BBC website very early in the morning. This incident never happened imo, purely a stunt to increase sales of scratchcards on flights. We have every news outlet running with the story that it is possible to win €10k on these cards.

Well done to marketing for coming up with a crazy but borderline believable story...
