Cheat days, do you allow them?

It's all in the title. A cheat day is one day a week (an off day for lifters and sportsmen and women) where you can eat whatever you want. Obviously not a binge on mcdonalds and doritos, but up to what you would deem efficent without going overboard.

So do you agree with them and take them? What do you have for them?

I try not go overboard but yes I do have one day every 2 weeks where I will choose too treat myself as you would say.

Could be anything from Kebab too burger king, pizza or takeway chips.

But its only once every 2 weeks. Not saying im perfect but I train quite tough rest week so im happy enough. That way i enjoy that food more

ah yeah, you have to live a little.
usually sunday is pizza night from apache, apart from that its fairly rigid though

Ya mine is either the usual Goodfella's or some takeaway. Can't help but enjoy it after a hard weeks work ^^

I like them. I have to be careful not to spin out of control and undo my deficit...but they definitely help psychologically! It can be tiring not having stuff all week...

Yesterday I ate a Big Mac, a cheeseburger, fries and a coke, then I came home and had two packets of Monstermunch and 3 mini snickers. Then my wife came home with some belgian chocoloates so I had some of those too.

I enjoy all my food and i don't really get this idea of being "rigid" in your diet. Eat because you enjoy it and learn how to cook properly and your diet can be fantastic and healthy. I think that actually serves to decrease this idea of craving fast food as some kind of deserved reward.

I allow a cheat meal once every two weeks,it usualy consists of a large dominos pizza and a whole tesco lemon cake.Other than that I eat a very strict and structured diet. The cheat meal is a great reward for hard work imo.:D

i prefer to hav 3 or 4 'cheat meals' spread out over the week rather than an actual cheat day, keeps me sane :D

You need them to keep your sanity. You'd fall off the wagon if you didn't have the odd cheat meal or few drinks.

If I am going to eat simple carbs I will save them for during or after a workout, a sort of bonus to look forward to, and at least they go to some good/better use.

I am of the opinion that if you work hard enough, and have some degree of self-control, there is no need to have an ultra-strict or "clean" diet in order to get the results you want (in most cases)

Every day is a cheat day for me and it's working for me. Everything in moderation.

Cheat meals are completely necessary..having fitness goals doesnt have to mean you deprive yourself of any form of pleasure.
A good meal, even if its a cheat satisfies like nothing else and improves your motivation.
Just dont pig out too often and its fine.

Once a week, simply not having any is just a stupid idea.

Calories in, calories out. If you have a numeric handle on what your intake is you can effectively cheat every day but I wouldn't exactly bandy this advice around to people attempting to lose weight. You have to understand macronutrients and appropriate timing in my opinion.
