Could be lots of goals at this one. Both clubs have defensive problems right now and strikers who can exploit these.

    drop Terry.

    seriously.

and that has nothing to do with 'Bridgegate'.

he's been as bad as i've ever seen him since he came back from his reconciliation trip to Dubai.

Ivanovic and Carvalho in the centre.

Terry plays, and i fancy Tevez to do his old employers a favour.

    2-2.

Come on city. Tevez to score if he makes it back in time.

As I much as I hate to say it I agree with the idea of dropping him .

He has been awful for the last few games !

Or do you keep him in and allow him to regain his form ?

Mr. Chelsea doesn't get dropped. I suspect a few elbows in his direction at corners.

Drop Terry? And move Ivanovich into the centre? Then do what? We're pretty short of full backs - Maluda playing at LB v Inter - not ideal really.

No, keep Terry on. Let him get his confidence back. He's going to be a big player for us in the run up to the end of the season. Esp now that Cech will likely be out.

3-1 Chelsea. Zhirkov is still out, looks like it will be same team as against Inter.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,235 ✭✭✭✭flahavaj

Drogba to murder City's suspect defence.

    4-1 Chelsea.

Bridge to clatter Terry with a ridiculous sliding tackle to the nuts, ensuring he never misuses his pecker again.:pac:

3-1 Chelsea, City to go 1 up and stay level to half time and collapse second half, they will go down like a burning bridge :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,239 ✭✭✭KittyeeTrix

At least there will be a silver lining if we do lose, although I hope we (city) win!!!
Either way, I'll still have a smile on my face:D

Nothing of any significance to happen between Terry and Bridge, but I fully expect the Chelsea fans to disgrace themselves again abusing Bridge.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

i also expect Chelsea fans to let themselves down yet again unfortunately

and on a more depressing note im pretty sure Terry will come out of his bad form tomorrow cause of the event that it is and will have his best game of the season

on the plus side the boards jinx might work again

    Chelsea to win easily

    is Adebayor out for this?

Yup, straight red card, so instant ban. A 4 game ban at that.

From what I have seen Chelsea fans will not be booing Bridge.

Should be goals in this. Both sides are having defensive problems as of late. I expect Chelsea to win it though. Only just though.

1200: Hello there. A warm handshake to you... And you... And you... But not you.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 41,365 ✭✭✭✭Boggles

1205: Generally (so Wikipedia tells me) it is considered inappropriate, if not outright insulting to the initiator side, to reject a handshake without good reason (such as an injured right hand). Tony Blair and Colonel Gaddafi; Yitzhak Rabin and Yasser Arafat; Saddam Hussein and Donald Rumsfeld; Richard Nixon and Chairman Mao. Could John Terry and Wayne Bridge join that list of momentous handshakes today?
1202: TEAMS Chelsea v Man City
Chelsea: Hilario, Ivanovic, Carvalho, Terry, Malouda, Ballack, Mikel, Lampard, Anelka, Drogba, Joe Cole. Subs: Turnbull, Paulo Ferreira, Kalou, Sturridge, Matic, Alex, Belletti.
Man City: Given, Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Bridge, Zabaleta, De Jong, Barry, Bellamy, Tevez, Adam Johnson. Subs: Taylor, Onuoha, Wright-Phillips, Santa Cruz, Sylvinho, Toure, Ibrahim.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Malouda stays at left back. Joe Cole in for Kalou, I think that's very harsh on Kalou won't do his confidence any good. And Hilario for Cech obviously.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,386 ✭✭✭smuckers

Joe play a blinder, you've been give enough chances

Given is captain for City today. God only knows why he's not for Ireland.

    From BBC
"What are the odds that JT jokingly wears a fake hand? As Bridge shakes very tightly it falls off... That would lighten the mood."

    :D

    wtf was Given doing?

He's inspirational yes but he's only really influential in a limited area of the pitch.

But considering Robbie Keane is captain (forward), thats hardly more influential is it? Why not just give it to a midfielder if thats the most important aspect of being captain. Dunne or Given are ideal captains of Ireland for me, not Keane. But this is a City-Chelsea thread, I won't get into it.

I am looking forward to the first 50-50, it's gona be good

I wonder will City help out their teammate and show a bit of physicality towards Terry

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,190 ✭✭✭✭IvySlayer

Oohhhhh no shake for JT. Load of Chelsea fans booed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,435 ✭✭✭✭redout

Though match to call but i'll make a stab at it.

Looks like a 1-1 draw here for me.

Here's hoping for a fantastic game

    Go Bridge !!

    That was hilarious

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,435 ✭✭✭✭redout

Did you notice Bridge stared Terry down.

Terry looked like he was keeping his eyes down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,239 ✭✭✭KittyeeTrix

Have to laugh how JT went to shake the hand and Bridge just swept his hand underneath and continued onto the next man.:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,468 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

i'm really glad Bridge didn't shake the hand.

    plus he didn't overdo it.

    good man.

nobody should be booing him for that.

sky are a bunch of hypocrites saying we have a football match going on...

whens the last time sky have shown the players shaking hands instead of cutting to a break
