I was going to say the same thing. AN eye for an eye. That poor little baby, my 12 month old is here playing on the floor and if someone told me to starve him, they would have to kill me first! That is horrendous. You know, it should be more difficult to have children. I have always thought that women should have been designed in such a way that they have to take the pill to GET pregnant rather than prevent it! There would be a hell of a lot less unwanted children!

If it was nothing to do with religion, then why was this child punished in this fashion for not adhering to a meaningless ritual, which at 16 months of age, it doesnt have the capacity to understand, or argue against?

Can you imagine how the child would have turned out being raised in that environment... Horrible story..

Playing devils advocate here :the punishment does not make sense... surely if they were trying to teach the child a lesson they would have eventually fed him or her again? what benefit does starving the child to death bring?

Anyways i hope the kid is okay wherever they are now.
