have just started my diet properly about 2 weeks ago. My problem is that since starting my facial skin has become dry, im drinking a lot of water (but i am well aware dry and dehydrated skin are two different things) Someone told me it was my body ridding itself of toxins could that be the case or am i lacking something? i do moisturise.

Now thats a coincidence. I get a dry skin on my hands now and even had a finger infection which I had to get antibiotics for over 4 weeks ago. I too am what I would regard as underwight for my height having trained to hard in terms of cardio. I am trying to put mass on now. I am just over 6ft and about 10.5 stone

Skin isn't just moisurised by water, it's moisturised by oil.

Fats in the diet provide this oil, especially fat soluble vitamins.

High vitamin butter oil has a drastic effect on the skin, at least it does on mine and other people I know who have tried it. It makes your pores shrink too as a nice side effect!

It is expensive but it is a very high quality product:

It has to be made from cows fed fast-growing grass in order to be potent in vitamin content, hence the expense in making it. But I've spent more on fancy moisturisers that didn't work as well as this did.

 maybe our bodies are missing all the oils from our diet, just kidding :D lol im certainly not underweight but have been when i was younger, very much so and had to use steroid ointment on the skin around my nose for mild eczema!! maybe there is a link!!

This would coincide with your other thread where it is obvious that you are not getting enough fat in your diet. Sprinkle some Olive oil in your salad and take a fish oil sipplemente (or even better eat some fresh-not tinned-oily fish) and this should clear up.
