Ok well i am trying to loose weight, a significant amount of weight. So far i have lost a few stone but things seem to have come to a stand still. I was wondering if there is anyway of boosting the weight loss. I would ideally like to loose as much as possible by June this year as i have a wedding to attend and also download festival and i want to feel comfortable at both.

There are so many meal plans out there many of which are conflicting with one and other.

I have slightly low blood pressure and have fainted twice this year as a result of it (not sure whether you experts need to know that).

If you are just going to say diet and exercise then please dont bother i am looking for advice not to be bitched at!

You really need to post up a typical daily diet of what you eat for people to tell you . Once thats done, advice can be given. Important thing is that there is NO ONE FOR ALL WEIGHT LOSS APPRIOACH!! If is relative to your lifestyle.

    Also, what are you're stats?

In general id advise you to read the stickies at the top of this forum - great advice in them. work out your daily calorie needs. This can be done by reading the stickies.

As a rule of thumb: stay away from refined carbohydrtaes i.e white bread/rice/pasta/breakfast cereals apart from unsweetened muesli, oats and shredded wheat. Opt for wholegrain rice, quinoa, fruits and green veggies as these are complex carbs. Complex carbs keep you're blood sugar levels steady which will leave you fuller for longer. Refined carbs give you a massive energy boost, followed by a massive energy dip which will leave you more likely to snack or go back for seconds.

Fill up on protein. This keeps you satieted. Lean meat like chicken, turkey, steak, fish etc are good protein sources. Cottage cheese, natural yogurt, eggs and unsalted nuts too.

Fil up on you 'good' fats: nut butters/nuts/oily fish etc.

ok well i am 5ft6/5ft 7 (it seems to vary not quite sure why!). I started off at 24 stone and i am now 19.4.

for breakfast i have a small bowl of special k with semi skimmed milk and sometimes add a banana to it

for lunch i generally have a salad consisting of lettuice, tomatoe, cucumber, beatroot, spring onion and maybe some carrot. sometimes i add a bit of tinned tuna in brine to this.

for dinner i generally have chicken with either salad or stir fried vegetables.(i dont use any oil as i dont like my food greecy in anyway.

i dont tend to snack between meals now and if i do its fruit usually an apple

i dont have any food allergies other than blueberries

My weakness has always been carbs mainly pasta and pizza and is mainly what caused the weight gain, along with emotional related stuff and pregnancy

    hope this helps

oh ps i am taking vitamin tablets along with aici berry and colon cleansing tablets

First off - well done on the loss. thats good going. How long have you been stuck at your current rate? It could be that you have hot a plateau.

Next: the food you posted below is very good (apart from special k). If you are eating along this line every day, the weight wil be falling off you. My other concern is that from the intake you posted that you might not be eating enough for your current weight.

My advise (for what its worth) would be the following -

    1. Ditch the special k. This is the ingregient list:
    Ingredients
Rice, Wheat (Wholewheat, Wheat Flour), Sugar, Wheat Gluten, Defatted Wheatgerm, Dried Skimmed Milk, Salt, Barley Malt Flavouring, Vitamin C, Niacin, Iron, Vitamin B6, Riboflavin (B2), Thiamin (B1), Folic Acid, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12.

There is added salt and sugers. Wheat flour (white flour) is also not your friend.

A much better breakfast might be eggs (they can be scrambeled in a mmicrowave in 2min) or oats. Of you are not a fan of the usual oats, leave them soak overnight in milk/water. Over night the oats absorb into the liquid and it is very desert like. Add some yogurt and fruit or nuts too.

2.Lunch and dinner is quite good. DO keep the tuna with your salad. It is also a good idea to maybe throw in a snack between brekfast, lunch and dinner. Mid morning maybe your apple, and then between lunch and dinner some yogurt or nuts.

Do not under eat as this can make your body think its been 'starved' so to speak. Regular meals work well for some people so if you are going hungry it might be a sign to have a snack between meals.

You obviously don't need to be told to stay away from the pastas/pizzas/junk. They really dont have place in a fat loss diet. Do have a treat though. You are not a monk. Treat yourself once a week for example. What you want to do is make a lifestyle change and not a quick fix.

I'll probably get the nose bitten off me for this (not by you!) but you're diet is unbelievably low in fat. I doubt you are even getting 5% of your calories from fat and even the lowest fat plans have 10% fat. You actually need to some fat for various bodily processes and to keep your mood elevated.

Don't be afraid of a little extra fat. A tbsp or two coconut oil is a good start. Coconut oil is made mostly of things called MCT's (medium-chain-tryglycerides), which are preferentially used for energy, rather than stored.

Also, put some olive oil or a little bit of butter on your veggies, it won't kill you or slow down your loss I promise.

Also, add in a fish oil supplement. There is bugger all omega 3 in canned tuna.

the diet looks good IMO .. not perect but good enough. It all comes down to time. you wont lose that much weight in a short period of time but im guessing you know that already. you could do wonders for your metabolism by doing plenty exercise cos there is only so much of a calorie deficit you can achieve through diet alone without being completely miserable. best of luck, your on the right track so far :)

thats great! you willl get to where you want easily if you go to gym *5 per week and follow good diet - but give it TIME. omlettes are fine - use lots of mushrooms and peppers so make it less borning and have with mixed green salad

how many eggs should i put in the omlette and should i use both the yoke and the white of the egg?

what is the "perfect" breakfast, lunch and dinner to ensure weight loss?

two eggs and one egg white is good ...
what matters is that you take in enough calories to function but not so many you dont lose weight. breakfast would be raspberries + blue berries and bowl of porridge. lunch = lots of green salad / vegetables and fish or chicken or good quality red meat - dinner lots of vegetables and fish or meat. if using pasta or rice use small quantities of whole grain. use olive oil for salad dressings and snacks could be apples, pears, nuts or cottage cheese. remember it is not healthy to lose weight too quickly so be patient and ask the instructors in the gym for a program which incorporates cardio and weights. sorry for rushed reply, bad day!

I work in an office, the girl i work with Sinead recently went on the pill (last november) and started to gain weight rapidly she has been saying recently that her partner has not wanted to have sex with her in recent weeks and she is feelnig a little down over it, but the reason is she has put on about 3 stone since november, she is not roughly 17 stone odd !!!!

She spends her days at her desk across from me eating eating eating eating. I cannot believe how big she has got in recent months.

We were trying to drp little hints but she is not getting the hints.

She recently broke her chair and our boss has to supply her with a new one but she still didnt think there is anything wrong.

What would you reccommend I do?How would I break it to her?

I would recommend you take your post elsewhere rather than trying to de-rail a thread where a genuine poster is seeking help on weight loss.

If she's not your best mate you don't do anything, it's not really your business. I seriously doubt that any woman on the planet would put on weight without noticing themselves and need to be told by a work colleague.

EDIT: just reread this post and noticed the bit about sex, I reported the message for trolling.

    Good luck! :)
BTW I seriously reccomend starting a food diary in the food diary forum on boards. It's so addictive and you get amazing feedback, advice and support from everyone there. It does amazing things for your motivation too and really helps you stick with a plan in the long term as people are always asking you how you're getting on and encouraging you etc..

I have slightly low blood pressure and have fainted twice this year as a result of it (not sure whether you experts need to know that).

On a side note just thought that I'd mention that if you have low blood pressure it's a good idea to keep some salt in your diet and to drink plenty. It's also important to avoid food or drink with diuretic properties as much as possible. That also means avoiding crash dieting or fad diets and weight loss tablets/potions etc as they often work by making you lose a lot of water.

and you dont think the above post is genuine nor worthy?
What a callous thing to post, in all honesty had a little bit of decency.

Agree with the Food Diary, Sarah, it is just easier to keep track of calories when you're recording them. Either way good luck and continued success.

ninalucy1985, I know you're new to boards, but the appropriate thing to do is to start a new thread specific to your query in the Nutrition and Diet forum. You're derailing someone's thread by posting here, and it's not fair. Thanks.
