I have experienced most of what others have. I have also applied for some jobs and then got calls or interviews and the job is not quite what was advertised. Some jobs specs are very misleading. One job was advertised for 20 hours per week then turned out they wanted a person to be unreasonably flexible i.e. full time when it's busy including weekends then god knows when you would be working again. This would have make it difficult to get other work as well or even sign on for the days you wouldn't be working. This job also would have required me to relocate a long distance away.

UK based agency, seem to specialise in Language based roles, not entirely sure what retail management positions would require languages apart from Aldi and Lidl?

I think these positions are with Tesco which would make sense. Just wanted to know if they were any good? Not had any dealings with an agency before and having been so frustrated trying to get fixed up on my own I am a bit suspicious about what they can offer.

Sadly most recruitment agencies are vultures but in some cases your stuck with them, are these positions in Ireland? I suspect Tesco are now farming out temp christmas positions to a third party agency therby by passing the hassle of hiring, tax, payroll expense etc. Tesco traditionally hire additional staff for christmas period especially night time roles, they then let go all additional staff hired just after christmas. It would make sense for them to pass this task onto an agency, I guess candidates will be paid directly by the agency and thats were the fun begins. Best advice, if tesco are hiring and employing, consider it, if its the agency, run a mile.
