Mallorca/Sevilla will be a great game!

I'm going to live in mere hope that Racing Santander get a result against Las Wankas

Is it Racing Santander who have that promising young striker up front? I can't remember his name, but he's Spanish and is only about 17.

I'm almost certain you're thinking of Iker Munian. He's 17 and plays for Athletic Bilbao

You're definitely thinking of Sergio Canales, he's an attacking midfielder, and has agreed to join Real Madrid for 2011/2012. :)

Is it definite? I thought it may have just been definite in the 'Marca' sense of the word, but that nothing had actually been signed.

Ibra has an ankle injury and is being rested for Stuttgart in the Champions league.

Was hoping Thiago or Dos Santos would have gotten a start tonight.

    That would explain it.

Hopefully Thierry can prove me wrong and pick up a goal or two to help his form. He's been terrible this season thus far

Yep, that's him! I saw him on on sky when they were away to, i think Valencia? Anyway, he scored twice that night and won the game. He seems like a decent prospect.

I'm looking forward to seeing him play tonight, though he may not see much of the ball away at the Nou Camp. But interesting to see if he can do anything

I find it amazing that Iniesta still hasn't scored a goal in 30 games this season. Such a talent, what a strange stat....

    Yea disgraceful defending,

    Rubbish defending

As Keano pointed out against France

you cant let the ball bounce in your own box

(actually think he said 6 yard box)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,280 ✭✭✭Bukman13

What the hell were barca doing with that free kick, they left about 35yards of space for the racing players to run into.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,283 ✭✭✭Glico Man

    Ata boy Thierry

    2-0

Barça got lucky there. Didn't see anything wrong with that goal

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

To think I was worried about a draw here.

Xisco was an idiot there. Goal would have stood had he not touched it. At least thats Valdes' mistake for the season out of the way anyway!!

Hope Bojan can het on the scoresheet.

Equaliser at the Riazor? That's more than one:P

    Thought Puyol played him on..

Good news I suppose. Keeps the clean sheet intact

Yea, only Puyol was playing him on, hence he was off side. (you need two defenders [usually includes goalkeeper] between the striker and the goal line to be onside.)

Also, I seem to remember him making a mess of the Osasuna equaliser. Or was that deflected?

Future Madridista Canales getting some stick from the Camp Nou crowd apparently.

Betis 0-0 Albacete - er Beti are making heavy work of escaping the second division.

The only players on the pitch right now for Barca who aren't La Masia graduates are Marquez and Maxwell. 9 youth products playing, amazing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,435 ✭✭✭✭redout

    Real Mallorca lineup:
Aquate, Josemi, Ramis, Nunes, Ayoze, Alvarez, Suarez, Marti, Valero, Castro, Aduriz

    Sevilla lineup:
Palop, Navarro, Fazio, Stankevicius, Dragutinovic, Zokora, Duscher, Renato, Capel, Navas, Negredo

It really is amazing. I can only think of Ajax with a similarly successful youth programme but no club in the world can compare with the quality of players that Barça have/will produce.

    Extraordinary

    Jesus, thats incredible.

Poor enough game that in truth, but cannot complain. Messi was very quiet, but I guess he cannot be amazing every time. Thought Bojan was excellent. Looks very strong.

If Fabregas moves to Barca in the summer who would he replace?

Their front 4 of Ibra, Iniesta, Xavi and of course Messi seem untouchable so Fabs would have to sit behind these alongside probably Busquets. Personally I think Yaya Toure would be perfect beside him but he seems to be involved as a makeshift carrott to appease the transfer.

If Barça were to sign Fabregas then I would expect them to move Xavi back into Yaya's position (likelihood of him being used as make-weight in any deal)

so the midfield would effectively look like this

    Xavi

    Fabregas
    Iniesta----

The ball has to be totally out. I thought it looked slightly still in, but it was very very close. Sevilla can feel hard done by, but had the goal been disallowed Mallorca could have felt equally hard done by.
