Right, so I'm off smokes just over a week and I know it's gonna take a while for my fitness to get to anything decent. Went for a cycle the other night and was pretty heavy on the auld lungs! Any exercises anyone can suggest for me, apart from walking and jogging.. Also, I'd like to start on some light weight training, or would it be too soon? Appreciate any advice.

i know it sounds like a cliche but the first week really is the worst, so PLEASE DO NOT go back... ive been an on / off smoker since 6th yr in school but off them since early Jan, except for one slip up last weekend (alcohol!) even one slip up can let you feeling like crap for another day or two ...

you should defo start weights ..

walking and jogging are good cardio, just build up by increasing tme or intensity or both .. it doesnt take too long to clear out the lungs, I reckon a month .
