    My BPM on the cross trainer was 220, surely this cant be right and the machine was wrong???

    Have you tried measuring it manually? Is it only on the same machine this is happening?

    No it was just the once on one machine, must have been wrong

    I had my heart rate going above 220 a couple of times but it was with a cheap HR monitor, I always just thought it was inaccurate, thats approx 3.6 beats per second!

    I'm sure those HR monitors are only accurate up to a certain BPM, for example my current one doesn't seem to measure anything below 55BPM...
