Although there are prob a million threads on this query, I thought I would post one anyway!

I recently joined a gym - a bit like curves really although they have crosstrainers/rowers/bikes etc etc too.
I have been going 3 - 4 time a week for the last few weeks, reason being I am going on a holiday in August and seriously need to lose weight. Have stopped the snacking with one treat night during the week.:p

I am currently 10.5 stone with my aim to be 9 stone by Aug.
I am of small build - gained weight due to ZILCH exercise and working in an office!
Currently doing 10 - 15mins on the crosstrainer, 10 mins on the rower (level 6) and roughly 10 mins on the bike. This is in conjunction to the curves style workout and additional weights.

Is my aim realistic? If anyone has any advice I woudl be extremely grateful!

Good work Deanov, if you post up your diet and what's involved in the weights, it'll get you a more detailed answer I'm sure.

Sounds like a realistic goal though, you're aiming for a healthy 1lb-2lb loss per week, which would give you july/august.

TBH I`m unsure of the what the actual weights are - they are just numbered!:o
saying that the number is 4??!!!

Diet - During the week I eat breakfast/lunch at work.
Breakfast usually consists of black coffee & Special K.
Lunch either soup & brown bread/ Grained bread & beans or tuna with peppers and onions on Ryvita.

Dinner ( not one for veg really!) - usually fish/potatoes/pasta/rice. with a stir fry, or with an apple/banana.

Make sure you eat wholewheat pasta and rice instead of the white stuff.... and it's nicer too! :)

Ok, in short, you could balance your diet a little better. Try to get some Protein/Fat/Carbs in every meal. You definitely need to get some veg in too. Try different ones, and different ways of cooking them, you can't dislike them all?

If it's baked beans you're having for lunch then I'd swap them out for a better alternative, same with special k (it's full of sugar, may even have fructose corn syrup IIRC? It's just marketed v.well)

Have a read of the stickies, I'm pretty sure g'em has a few 'shopping list' ideas in there to give you an idea of alternatives.
