Squats and deadlifts - Where to start

    Hi all,

    I'm in the process of shedding unwanted pounds through soccer and triathlon training.

    I'd like to introduce some squats & deadlifts into my program to build up my core strength. The problem is I've done some searching online and I'm finding it hard to find a simple beginners guide. Seems to be an overload of information out there!

    If someone could point me out a few guides or programs I'd be very grateful!

    The best thing you could do is get yourself to a knowledgeable coach to show you the lifts and start you from there.

    After that, there's some good videos on http://www.crossfit.com/cf-info/excercise.html and others have recommended www.exrx.net

    After that, Mark Rippetoe's Starting Strength is a great book as well.
