The SL™ Pro System features the strength of solid steel construction plus a unique combination of flashlight/tool components. By switching components the SL™ Pro can be tailored to a wide variety of tasks from camping, hunting and shooting to law enforcement or EMS applications. The brilliant LED flashlights are ideal for use in low light situations, plus they are waterproof for shallow immersion. The SL™ Pro System is a great choice for rugged use anywhere life takes you.

    Features:
    -Razor Sharp 50/50 Serrated Blade
    -Brilliant White LED Flashlight
(Plus a choice of other tools – pgs.3-4)
    -Steel Handle w/ Frame Lock
    -Loud Emergency Whistle
    -Pocket/Belt Clip
    -Lanyard Hole

Have one of these bad boys myself and have to say they are very good. The slot in led light attachment can be replaced with other utilities and I paid a helluva lot more than £3.95, more like €30 from eBay!
Definately a misprice I reckon as other models on 7 Day Shop are more expensive, and even with their £7.95 P&P (for Ireland I think) it is still a good bargain.
Available on Amazon US for $60 - Link here has more photo's

Ordered two there again for myself for the hell of it, make decent "manly" gifts as well ! :D
I like in the checkout procedure you have to tick a box that states "All Checkout prices are final" so looks like they won't be upping the price on us (hopefully!)

Says out of stock now.. but put in an order anyway :D

Just ordered two as well, one for me and one for the missus. She's a scary outdoors type who likes nothing better than absailing down mountains and rescuing people. I do the same but I do it on my xbox!

Thanks for the heads up OP.

Perhaps its not a price error. Although with it being "on order" there is less chance of us not getting it if it is, ordered something small aswell with the knives, If they do cancel the knives, I don't want to be paying £5.95 p&p for a £1.50 item:confused: What are the chances of this happening?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,003 ✭✭✭iggy

    Just ordered 2 aswell.

Lets hope we get them... worth a try.

Oh No:mad: They have dispatched my £1.50 item (a fancy nail clippers thing:o) and not the knives, and charged me €8.71 for that:mad:. There is no way on this earth that I would ever pay that just for a crappy nail clippers. What are the chances that I will actually get the knives? Should I contact them?

Dispatch date is 00-00-0000 for the knives, wtf? I'm livid.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,471 ✭✭✭majiktripp

Indeed the item page has now been taken down, will have to wait and see what happens to the orders. Lindtee, sorry it worked out like that , we'll just have to wait and see what happen's. Whether they cancel the orders for the knives or not now is another thing...

Twas my own fault, shouldn't have thrown in the silly nail clippers into the order:( Yeah, its just a waiting game now

The lower spec'd model is still available

    http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_8&products_id=8489

    Only problem is it's £14.95

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,471 ✭✭✭majiktripp

Interesting, wonder will they take the price hit (which I doubt as I'd say a lot of orders for X2 went in from Boardsies) or email us either A) Canceling the order, or B) Offering at the higher price....ALA Littlewood's....
This could be some sort of new advertising format coined by Littlewood's and being copied all over now!

~Edit: The new link to the model posted above is not the same, the model we ordered was the "SLP1" OR "SL Pro 1" version, where now they only have the regular SL model...

    Think thats a different knife.

The last two posters are correct. The model now on offer (for 4x the price) is the ordinary (non pro) version. Looked the same on a quick glance :o

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,471 ✭✭✭majiktripp

I emailed there Customer Support, got this reply:

Due to the fact that we have had a very high demand for this item we have run into a backorder situation and are awaiting fresh stocks from our supplier who have not yet given us a confirmed date. Do you still wish to keep the item on backorder?

Told them yes, but looks like they will honour the prices!

Ask in Consumer Issues but, if they don't eventually send the knife, it seems reasonable enough for you to ask for, at least, a partial refund. You would have to check over their terms and conditions, of course, but it does seem unreasonable to expect you to want only half your order without sending you a confirmation eMail.

feel lucky that I just cancel my whole order last night, wtf

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,396 ✭✭✭lindtee

I contacted them last night, to enquire about the knives, I didn't mention anything about it possibly being a misprice, I just asked why my order was only partially dispatched, and asked for a date when I could expect the knives. Will keep ye posted if I get a reply.

Got exactly the same reply to my query as majiktripp:rolleyes: I did say yes and asked again for an estimated dispatch date. Fingers crossed on this one....

Just subscribing to this thread in case we get any more updates, I seriously hope we get this, you'll never be able to carry it in public but it'll still be great to have.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,396 ✭✭✭lindtee

They replied to my question about an estimated dispatch date with this-
    [FONT=Tahoma, Arial, Verdana, sans-serif]
    7dayshop reply - 22/02/2010 - 10:08
as soon as this is back in stock you will be notified

    apologies for the delay

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,471 ✭✭✭majiktripp

Hopefully we will hear back soon enough, won't hold my breath for a quick turn around though!

As an aside, the knife will probably look more like this:
    prod_8489.jpg
The photo that I linked in the original post is indeed an SL3 Pro knife, not the SL1 Pro that we bought. Still a good knife , the SL3 comes with a "firesteel" insert instead of the magnetic torch which the SL1 has. I imagine the magnetic torch would get more use TBH.
Still holding out for them to deliver on this...fingers crossed...even though I don't really need them...

They better refund the delivery charges also. swines
