Requiring 2 x AA batteries not shoot a big hole in this deal here? :o:o

I'd see that as an advantage

If ur camera takes 2 x AA, you can get high capacity rechargeable AA's for cheap enough

Then if they die when your out, you can run to Spar for new batteries, whereas you dont have this option with rechargeable-only batteries

    :D

    Just back from Dundrum. Thanks!

Got the camera but it was the last one in a brown refurbished box. It was excluded from the returns for refund or exchange policy so I opened it there and then. All looked ok so I still bought it for €59.99.

Did anyone actually get it with the 10% back? I was told it didn't apply to sale cameras. But the iPods and Touch etc was included...

Are you sure it's a refurbished one? I didn't know Argos sells refurbished goods.

I know all cameras are excluded from their returns and refund policy unless there's a faulty.

The brown box might be an extra package by Fuji.

They do this with items that have been on display usually, they don't take returns of cameras unless they're faulty/under warranty because of data concerns.

You can usually tell if it has been on display previously because the box sometimes has white string around it.

Sorry, used the wrong word - refurbished! I actually meant that it was opened before and not exactly brand new. It's more likely a display model. It actually had everything intact except that the camera was removed from the plastic. So it seems only the camera was removed from the box. The brown box was double the size of the fuji box inside and the fuji box did show signs of being opened.

Anyway I am quite happy with it so...

oh btw it did ask me to set the date, time and a few other settings which usually only come up when switched on the first time.

Bought the last one from Swords, camera also in brown box. The inner box is spotless and camera is in the plastic bag with Fujia seal. However, there is no CD and manual at all.:mad::mad:

Out of stock everywhere in Dublin :(

If only i'd seen this early via the Bargain alerts Twitter site:(

Managed to bag the last one in dublin I think, in Omni. Very happy with it, although the battery level did go down one bar after barely any use...could be hard on the juice perhaps.

Still handy for travelling, when I dont want to be bringing around chargers and adaptors etc. which is what i got it for.

    Thanks OP.

I bagged the last one in Drogheda today...reserved it on Saturday. First impressions are that it's a lovely piece of kit. Took some snaps inside and out and downloaded them onto the computer.....my word it seems to be as good as the €200 Panasonic I got the OH for xmas!

Don't forget today is the last day for the discount! Any reservation will have to be collected before the end of business on the 23rd. From tomorrow the price goes back up to around €77.

PM sent. I'd love this one instead of the Kodak one I'm thinking of getting.

edit: I don't need this code anymore. I reserved one from Liffey Valley Extra

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 247 ✭✭irishbigfoot

Reserved the last two in Portlaoise and the price is still at €59.99. While flicking about for the case I noticed that there are currently 3 of the cameras left in Liffey Valley at the moment.

Came up across two of these at Ilac Centre (Dublin), and reserved both! I now have two reservation codes. PM me who ever wants them! ;) No chance of silent bargain alerts viewers sniping them now... :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 291 ✭✭rash0001

Btw I think the €59.99 price is now here to stay till they are all sold out. Last week they had cut of the original price of around €99.99 and put up the €59.99 price and at the end they had a note along the lines of - this price is valid till 23rd february or something like that. Now the original price is no longer there and the note too has been taken off... So this can be bought until sold out, so keep checking and you are sure to find some which were reserved and not collected. :)

thx, rash0001, got the code, will collect them later after work. :D

One down, One code left for collection from Ilac Center.

I also bought one of these cameras and you can't go wrong with the price you pay.
You'll need some good rechargeable bateries for it as it seems to discharge very quick, it shows 2 bars after you take a photo or two...

I also bought one of these camera cases from mymemory.co.uk at 4.99 sterling including delivery http://www.mymemory.co.uk/Camera-Pouches/Casio/Casio-Exilim-Leather-Camera-Case. They also have good deals on rechargeable bateries, worth checking...

don't forget to register for 6 months free accident cover at

    http://www.fujifilm.co.uk/warranty

If linux doesn't see it over USB then it's because it's a PTP camera so you may need to install some app like gphoto2 to read it

For the black model 79.99 is the current price. Lucky for those who got in at the right time.
Think it's time to go over to amazon?
