Ok so I'm starting a league, and need 19 other participants, I plan on having 3 games a week and there will be fixtures, new fixtures will be posting every Wednesday, so Wednesday will be the start of the gaming week.
There will be rules that coincide with that of the Xbox360 League rules (this is why that league has enjoyed such longevity)

All teams are 4.5 stars with 20 teams, Home and away matches so 38 games in total

Teams will be picked at random by myself and are as follows

Aresnal, Aston Villa, Man City, Spurs
Ath. Madrid, Valencia, Villareal, Sevilla
Fiorentina, Juventus, AC Milan, Roma
Bayern Munich, Hamburg SV, Wolfsburg, Werder Bremen
Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Porto

Anyone who doesn't pick the team assigned to them will be removed from the league.

The PS3 "Boards" players don't seem to be as committed as the Xbox. But if you post up full rules / fixtures this will help. This is where we have lacked in previous attempts!!

It doesn't matter really cause you've made it too big to begin with, isnt a hope and hell you'll get 20 players to play all their games

You'd have one or two leaving in a 6/7 team league.

So i'd say at least a 1/4 don't even play once, another 1/4 leave after a few losses, few weeks and there other half will play 2/3/4/5/6/7 games each

Since we don't have enough players only 10 we will have 2 games per week running from
Wednesday-Tuesday. You must play the games with in that timeframe or have a valid excuse.
Post all results in this thread also please after completion

RULES:

In order to maintain the league, a number of rules have been laid out. Any violations of this code of conduct can be sent to the league co-ordinators and each issue will be investigated.

1) Disconnections
No player is allowed to intentionally disconnect for any reason. Any disconnections during a league game must be made known to the league co-ordinators. However, accidental disconnections do occur and the rules have been written to take this into account. If a player disconnects while they are winning, a rematch is immediately scheduled. However, if a player disconnects while drawing or losing the game, a walkover is awarded to the other player. Each player is responsible for their own connection. These rules are final and the cause of the disconnect is irrelevant once it occurs, no exceptions will be given so do not contact players directly looking for a rematch.

2) Last man tackling
Fifa 10 is a soccer simulation and while slide tackling is encouraged when needed, intentional attempts to take out the last man (an attacking player that only has the keeper to beat) will not be tolerated. A defender is allowed to slide in from the side as there is a good chance that he will win the ball. However, when someone slides in from directly behind (from the 5-7 O'Clock positions) and the striker is between the defender and the ball, this will not be tolerated. Players like this can usually be indentified by a low foul:card ratio.

3) Settings
While this rule is unenforcable, each player is expected to have all assistance settings on default.

4) Holidays
If a player is going away on holidays and unable to play their fixtures for a short period then they must contact the co-ordinators in advance and let them know. They will post on the fixtures thread a note to allow that player to play the games for the weeks he is away in advance. Only those fixtures can be played in advance and any others will be void if played.

5) Unplayed fixtures
Due to the amount of unplayed fixtures in previous season we will be bringing in a new rule to make sure people make an effort to play their games. We will have intervals in the season such as the half-way point (we will post specific dates before the season begins) where we will look at the numbers of games played. Players will be expected to have a set amount of games played by this time. If a player has failed to play this amount of games they will be docked 3 points. Every player is responsible for their own fixtures and getting them played. If you find a player is not responding to your messages about organising fixtures then contact the co-ordinators.

6) People Quitting Mid Season
Due to various reasons we have players who sometimes are unable to complete the league season. In the case of these players any remaining fixtures they have will be awarded a walkover to their opponent. Any games played previously will stand as at this stage the person was still active in the league. If a player quits they are automatically placed at the bottom of the table and will take one of the relegation places at the end of the season. This allows us to keep a group of players in each league who are dedicated to playing their games and making the season enjoyable for everyone involved.

I joined this league last night - there were 5 members joined at that time I think. I would be wary of some of the "new" boards members who are involved in this league. :rolleyes:

But with the rules been enforced and everyones effort; hopefully we can successfully complete this league

El-Spankerton or Colly54 can either of you play today after 5? I have added both of you already to my friends list on PSN.

New boards members are relatives of mine so they shouldn't be any bother with them. They are up for this league

@thewools: I remember seeing a legue table you had posted up for your league on a different site, any chance of doing the same for this one.

Hi All,

I know there have been a number of threads, questions and concerns today about the 1.03 update that hit the PS3. I have now received some more information about it and can confirm a few details (and hopefully answer some questions).

This update is a pre-Ultimate Team update to prepare for the launch of Ultimate Team next week. There will be a similar one for the 360 next week (likely on the Ultimate Team launch day).

It doesn't change anything in terms of gameplay but we are aware that a rogue football (the 1974 one) has managed to find itself in the game and the guys over in Canada are currently looking into this.

In terms of the disconnects and general feeling they have increased, this is due to the nature of the update. It hasn't been rolled out at the same time across the globe so if you play someone from another country that doesn't have it yet, chances are you are going to end up disconnecting from them.

There were initial thoughts this was going to hit next week (in line with the 360) but it seems that Sony have dropped it at the same time as they updated the PS Store this week instead.

Hopefully this clears a few things up and as more people around the world have access to download the update things should even themselves out again.

I have uploaded this weeks fixtures - games to be complete by 23rd Feb.

Also does anyone think we should attempt to play >2 games per week. As it stands:

• By playing 2 games a week this league will not be complete until approx 20 April.
• By completing 3 games a week we would expect the league to be complete by 30th March
• By completing 4 games a week we would expect the league to be complete by 16th - 23th March
