Backpacking - Summer in USA, Advice needed

Hey guys, I recently booked a trip around the USA on the Green Tortoise, www.greentortoise.com, im doing the USA explorer tour, its the most expensive, but you get to see everything. Its a backpacking style tour, well you sleep on the bus through the night most of the time, seems a good laugh though. Im wondering if anyone has done this USA explorer trip, if they have any advice, any reviews. Really cannot wait until July at this stage - Counting down the days.

Oh and one more thing, will be just a few months shy of 21, any advice on fake id etc. just for when im in chicago, austin etc.
