He reminds me of the PhD we hired in work who left after 6 months cos he wasn't prepared to learn the ropes and do his chores.

It's good stuff. Pat kenny on top form as usual.

Miffed at the pair of them.

George is hanging himself. Shame, and naive given that he'll be going back to RTE.

    "Gardening with George?"

Reflects terribly on FG. Kenny won't last much longer. Good riddance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,458 ✭✭✭✭gandalf

Well so far the biddies agree with George.................he is definitely doing himself no favours now appearing on every single media show he get his ass on.

This is not just a knife in Kennys back its the full dinner service.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,718 ✭✭✭✭JonathanAnon

Leo Varadkar joining them shortly, so Pat kenny says. That should be interesting, I always find Varadkar very sharp. George could have his hands full with him.

    True.
Kenny's quite good at this stuff.

I can't help feeling it is a George Lee problem.
Describing Enda Kenny as being "shocked" kinda supports this.

Kenny is doing a good enough job on George...

Vardakar better have eaten before hand.... there'll be nothing left...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,497 ✭✭✭omahaid

To be honest he seems like an honest enough guy, I can't imagine how any politician should be able to make an honest guy seem bad.

The guy behind Noel Whelan has ripped jeans.

Edit: he just said "sh1t hot".
    WTF is going on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 768 ✭✭✭Victor Meldrew

    Ouch..

Kenny and George won't be supping coffee in the canteen and working on the crossword any time soon....

I am starting to feel sorry for him...

Actually scratch that, he's still been spoilt.

It's looking more like George lee was lied to ,bruton was never going to let him in.

Why should he have let him in?? Bruton's been in that party for years, Lee has only been there for 9 months. Arrogant git thought he could walk into a frontbench position.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,718 ✭✭✭✭JonathanAnon

I think no matter what you say about George, the fact that he only stayed for 9 months is a poor reflection on his commitment to the job and his constituents. I think he should have at least stayed for the term that he was elected for.

What the hell was he let into fine gael for then ? to make apple tarts for the party ?

I am happier with Bruton in Finance. There was talk of Lee being given a new portfolio for economic development both on the frontline just now and based on earlier reports on radio.

George Lee is like a spoilt child . . .
No one will ever take him seriously again!!!

Absolutely JA. It's easy to understand his frustrations but ultimately he can't do anything about it from the RTE canteen. I'd be sick if I had voted for him. And bitter.

ha ha, Yates was great. Don't know why they keep bringing up the Duffy poll, it's only a snapshot of housewives opinions, hardly a broad view of the electorate.

Never really liked Jim Glennon as a contributor. His rugby analogy was not very good.

Sounds like the mistake he made was to assume he would get a major position and didn't actually nail it down properly beforehand. Its like accepting a job thinking you are going to get one wage, never looking or signing the contract and then finding out you are getting far less. Naive at best.

Jesus Ivan Yates is the leader that Fine Gael needs badly. Its a shame he stood down from them. He'd make a great Taoiseach imho.

Chr1$t, I know, I'm a card carrying Blueshirt who canvassed with George but I am so delusioned by this.

Our ability to screw up is Fianna Fail's greatest asset. Seriously... It's incredible.

    And where is Leo V...?

The Irish political spectrum as a whole has been soiled today. George Lee was the breath of fresh air with the passion and vibrancy to try and change the views of inept parties and their ideals. Its the system folks and dont ever be fooled that your local councillor or politician has in the long term your interests at heart, for fools we all are!!!

It's absolutely ridiculous to have taken on someone like george lee and not know what he is thinking nine months later.

Who's next for fine gael , liam neeson ?

Its interesting to see what trickles out when there is a shock to the system.

Thought George was a secret FF agent for a while there though :)

Where are George Lee's policy documents? Where are his ideas from Dail speeches? Why didnt he convene meetings of the economic policy forum he was chairing? This is a George lee ego problem.

No one was communicating with the guy ,it's obvious. So theres nothing for him to document.

Bad judgement in Fine gael ,time for them to look at themselves.

This is an important point too, one which must be remembered. If he was that good he would have made his influence within FG felt.
