Ok, im 23 and about 5ft 8" and i weigh about 12 stone dead. Ive recently started to put on a good bit of a gut and im looking to lose it.
What would the best way be to lose it?

I run about 3mile maybe 2-3 nights a week other than that not much exercise, would more running help it or a strict diet?

Well yeah the running will help it but if you really want to see progress you'll need to sort out your diet. Write down your current average daily diet and then add up the calories. Try reducing the calories by 300-500 and you'll be in a deficit and should lose weight. Keep your foods limited to lean meats and fish, complex carbs, fruit and veg and good fats from sources such as oily fish or nuts.

Also you can't spot reduce fat and the belly usually holds on to fat longest as it is an immoble area of the body. So don't get disheartened if you are at it a few weeks and don't see that much gone off the gut. Just persevere.

    www.fitday.com

This has info on calories in foods or, you can just search on Google, of course.

On fitday you can also keep a food and exercise log.

Just remember that information given is an average.

    Hi,

I'm in the process of loosing body fat. Started from 16 stones, the goal is 12 stones. Right now I'm 14 stones. I used to go to the gym and had a good diet, but unfortunately, I have a back problem, so I have to quit temporary until thats resolved.

So I need to do something with my diet.

    Here is an average day;

8:00; I have two-three eggs with one and half slices of bread (home baked wholegrain bread)

10:30: I have a sandwich, two slices of bread, some light butter, and salami, vegs etc. actimel

    12:45: Small portion of soup.

15:30: Usually grilled turkey/chicken, with some brown rice, cooked corn or peas.

    17:30: Sandwich plus activia
    20:00: Sandwich.

I work till late, usually go to bed at midnite so i really need to eat at 8pm, otherwise i will be hungry which is bad for metab.

Will this maintain my fat loss, until i get my back sorted?
Any is advise is much welcomed!

Sorry i forgot to add that i do exercise about 40 mins in the morning but thats just some cardio and other things that my doc told me.

    Regards,
    Raw
